Discipleship

Many people are disciples of someone. Here is given a list of some Guru and their disciples. Guru's names are in blue and the disciples' names are in brown. It is a good ready reckoner --

It is not sure that who this Gautam was?
Chhaandogya Upanishad, Chapter 5/2 says that he had a son named Goshruti who was taught by Satyakaam Jaabaal.

Kumaaril Bhatt, 557-453 BC (Disciple of Gunaakar) -
Kumaaril Bhatt's Disciple was Mandan Mishra - It means that Shankar was in those times only - in BC, not in the 9th Century AD. But people give his birth year as - Shankaraachaarya was born in (806-838 AD). If Shankar was born in 800, then how could he meet Mandan Mishra who lived in the 6th or 7th Century BC, if Mandan Mishra was the disciple of Kumaaril Bhatt (in BCs). Besides how Shankar could desire to see Kumaaril Bhatt also?

Of these 6 disciples, Akritavran, Saavarni and Sarirsapayana were born in the Kashyap Gotra and have composed Puraan Sanhitaa.
