Sampraapti Dwaadashee Vrat
(Chap 77)
Krishn Bhagavaan said - "There is Sampraapti Dwaadashee Vrat from 12
of Krishn Paksh of Paush Maas to 12th of Krishn Paksh of Jyeshth Maas (6
months). In each month one should worship Bhagavaan with the following
names respectively - Pundareekaaksh, Maadhav, Vishwaroop, Purushottam,
Achyut and Jaya. After that from 12th of Krishn Paksh of Aashaadh Maas one
should take Vrat up to Maargsheersh Maas. One should do the worship
and Vrat with the same name as before. One should feed a Braahman every
month and give Dakshinaa to him. One should not take oil and salted food
on these days. After doing it up to one year, one's all desires are
fulfilled and he goes to Bhagavaan's Lok.
Govind Dwaadashee Vrat
(Chap 78) Krishn Jee further said - "In the same way, there is
another Vrat, Govind Dwaadashee Vrat, which fulfills all desires. Worship
Vishnu Bhagavaan with flowers, Naivedya, lamp etc after doing fast on 12th
of Shukla Paksh of Paush Maas. On this day one should not talk to any
Paakhandee, give Dakshinaa to Braahman. One should take cow's milk or
yogurt on that day. Worship and feed cow on that day. Next day, worship
Bhagavaan, feed a Braahman and take food himself too. Thus he should do it
for 12 months. After the year is over, make a gold idol of Lakshmee and
Naaraayan, worship it and give it to a Braahman along with a cow with
calf. Who does this Vrat he gets the fruits of donating 100 golden horned
cows along with a bull.
Akahand Dwaadashee Vrat
(Chap 79) Yudhishthir asked - "Bhagavan, If something is missing in
some Vrat, fast, donation, or Dharm, then what is the fruit of that?"
Krishn said - "In spite of getting kingdom, when people become poor;
or in spite of being beautiful become one-eyed, blind, or lame,; or wife
and husband become separated; or even after taking birth in a noble family
become bad character; being rich they cannot donate or enjoy wealth and
good clothes etc; that is all because of this Vaikalya (shortfall in Dahrm,
donation, Vrat or fasts etc). If somehow this happens, then do Akhand
Dwaadashee Vrat. That will remove all kinds of mistakes from them.
In
Maargsheersh Maas, on 12th of its Shukla Paksh, worship Janaardan and keep
fast. Donate a pot full of barley or rice to a Braahman and pray with this
Mantra (the Mantra is given
on p 465). This Vrat should
be done for four months - Maargsherrsh, Paush, Maagh, and Phaalgun and then
do its Paaran. Start it again for four months (Chaitra, Vaishaakh, Jyeshth,
Aashaadh) and do another Paaran after four months and give Sattoo to Braahman,
then do another four months (Shraavan, Bhaadrapad, Aashwin and Kaartik) and do
another Paaran with the donation of Ghee in a pot of gold, silver, clay,
or Palaash leaf according to one's capacity.
Feed Kheer to 12
Braahman, donate clothes and ornaments, and ask for their forgiveness. By
doing this all broken (faulty) Vrat etc become complete (faultless). Therefore
people should do this Vrat definitely to save themselves from faults."
Manorath Dwaadashee Vrat
(Chap 80) Krishn Jee said - "Do fast on 11th of Shukla Paksh of
Phaalgun and worship Bhagavaan. Next day, on Dwaadashee, do Havan with
Ghee and give Dakshinaa to Braahman. Then pray to Bhagavaan for fulfilling
one's all desires and eat Havishya food. This should be done for one year
in three parts - (1) Phaalgun to Jyeshth - worship Naaraayan with red
flowers and Havishyaann and take cow horn water and Havishyaann; (2)
Aashaadh to Aashwin - worship with Chamelee flowers and Sathee rice, and
take Kush water and Naivedy; and (3) Kaartik to Maagh - worship with Japaa
flowers and Kasaar and take cow urine and Kasaar. Give Dakshinaa to
Braahman every month. At the end of the Vrat, one should give Braahman a
gold idol of one Maashaa (about one gram) of Naaraayan after worshipping
it, along with two clothes and Dakshinaa. Feed 12 Braahman and give food,
pitcher for water, umbrella, shoes, clothes, and Dakshinaa. By doing this
Vrat all kinds of wishes are fulfilled, that is why it is called Manorath
Dwaadashee."
Til Dwaadashee Vrat
(Chap 81) Yudhishthir said - "Bhagavan, Tell us the way by which all
Paap should be washed away with little effort." Krishn Jee said -
"There is one Vrat, called Til (sesame seed) DwaadasheeVrat, that is
very auspicious and is he destroyer of all sins. On the 12th day of Krishn
Paksh of Maagh Maas, when there is Mool or Poorv Aashaadh Nakshatra, keep
fast on the previous day (on 11th day) and take Vrat. Next day, on 12th,
worship Krishn and donate black sesame seeds. Vratee should also take
black sesame seeds on that day. Thus one should do it for one year on each
12th of Krishn Paksh. In the end, feed 12 Braahman, and donate them black
color pitchers full of black sesame seeds, good food, umbrella, shoes,
clothes, and Dakshinaa. By doing this Vrat one lives in Swarg for the
years whatever number of sesame seed are produced by sowing the donated
seeds. He never becomes blind and suffers from leprosy, always stays
healthy. This is not very expensive Vrat."
Sukrit Dwaadashee Vrat
Chap 82)
Yudhishthir asked - "Which is that Karm by doing which all pains and
afflictions are removed?" Krishn Jee said - "I tell you one story
in this reference. In olden times, there lived a Vaishya named Seerbhadra in
Vidishaa (Bhelasaa) city. He always used to be busy in earning money for
his family, that is why he didn't have time to think about his Par-Lok. He
used to earn wealth by any means and never did any Dharm Karm. After some
time he died and lived in Vindhya Van as a Pret. One day Vipeet named
Braahman saw him in summer time, he was turning around in sand near rive
because of heat. He had blisters all over his body and his throat was dry
with thirst. Braahman got pity on him and so he asked him about him. Pret
said - "Hey Braahman, I am burning because I did not do any Dharm
Karm in my previous life. I neither worshipped Braahman, nor Devtaa.
I myself collected all the sins so I alone am suffering for them. If you
any way, please tell me."
Vipeet Muni said -
"Seerbhadra, You did a Vrat of Sukrit Dwaadashee ten lives before.
Because of that a large part of your sins has already destroyed, now you will
get good Gati in a very short period. This Vrat destroys sins and brings
Punya." After saying this to him Muni went to his Aashram and Seerbhadra
also got good Gati after some time. Because of this only his so many sins got
destroyed in such a short period, that is why one should always make efforts
for Punya and do fasts and Vrat etc.
On the 11th day of
Shukla Paksh of Phaalgun Maas, one should keep fast, and do Jaap of "Aum
Namo Naaraanaaya". On 12th day worship Bhagavaan Madhusoodan. In the Paaran
of the first four months, give Yava (barley) filled in silver, copper or clay
pots. In he second Paaran, from Aashaadh to Aashwin, give Ghee; and in the last
one, from Kaartik to Maagh, one should give sesame seeds. Worship Bhagavaan and
ask for His grace, then take food. When one year is completed make a gold idol
of Vishnu, worship it give to Braahman along with clothes, gold and Dakshinaa
and a cow with calf. Whoever does this Vrat he never goes to Narak. In the same
way who always take Naaraayan's name they also never see Yam's face.
