12-Varaah Puraan-Index

Varaah Puraan is the 12th Puraan in the row of 18 Puraan. This Puraan is divided and contains 24,000 Shlok (verses).

This is supposed to have been given by Vishnu to Bhoo Devee in his Varaah Roop when He brought Prithvi up from Paataal Lok taken by Hiranyaaksh. It provides details of the theory of Karm, Shraaddh, A-Shauch etc. An important portion of this Puraan is the Nachiketopaakhyaan which deals with heaven and hell.
