Prayer of Vishnu by Naarad

Rishi asked - "Hey Soot Jee, How did Sanat Kumaar and Naarad Jee meet and where did they do this discourse?" Soot Jee said - "Sanak etc are Brahmaa's sons. They have neither affection, nor pride,  they are all Brahmchaaree. Their names are Sanak, Sanandan, Sanat Kumaar, and Sanaatan. They all are devotees of Vishnu. One day they were going to Brahmaa's court. On the way they saw Gangaa River. Seeing the river they got ready to take bath in her Seetaa named stream. At the same time Naarad Jee came there and started praying Vishnu.

Later Naarad Jee asked Sanakaadi Muni - "You always pray Bhagavaan, I want to ask you a few questions. Tell me the characteristics of Bhagavaan. How to know Hari from whose feet Gangaa River has come out, and from whom the whole Universe is born? Tell me about Gyaan and Tapasyaa also, importance of guest worship. Tell me all those things by which Vishnu is pleased." After this Naarad Jee again started praying Bhagavaan.

3-Description of Creation

Naarad Jee asked - "Tell me, How Vishnu created Braahman etc?" Sanak Jee said - "Bhagavaan is omnipresent. In the beginning, He created three figures - Brahmaa from His right side, Rudra from His middle part, and Vishnu from His left side. People sometimes call the same one form Brahmaa, sometimes Rudra or Shiv and sometimes Vishnu.

Vishnu's Paraa Power runs this Universe. It has two forms - Bhaav and A-Bhaav. The same is called Vidyaa with Bhaav form and A-Vidyaa with A-Bhaav form. When this Universe seems different from Vishnu, then it is called A-Vidyaa and that is the cause of sorrows. Naarad Jee, When your knower, information and known will become the same; and you will see Vishnu in all, then only this Vidyaa will enlighten you. When this Maayaa seems different from Vishnu, then it binds the world to birth and death. And if the same is seen with "no difference" outlook then it becomes the destroyer of the world bondage.

This whole world is born from Vishnu, that is, whatever is here - movable or immovable, all are His forms. As Vishnu is omnipresent in the whole Universe, in the same way His Power is also omnipresent. Some people call that Power Lakshmee, some call it Umaa, and some call it Bhaaratee (Saraswatee). Vishnu's this Paraa Power creates the world, but that Paramaatmaa is beyond everything. Although He is very pure and immortal, still He takes three forms with the help of Tattwa etc attributes. With whichever form He creates this world, is called Brahmaa. With whose navel lotus flower-born Brahmaa is born, the same Vishnu sustains the world. There is nobody higher than Him. He is the soul of the whole Universe. His Power is Mahaamaayaa. Learned people call it Prakriti because of being the initial cause of the creation of the Universe. At the beginning of the Creation, when Mahaa Vishnu gets ready to create, three forms appear from Him - Prakriti, Purush and Kaal. He exists in Kaal as well aa in three Gun - Sat, Raj, and Tam.

When Prakriti got Kshobh (Chanchalataa or movability) in it, Mahat Tattwa appeared from it. It is called Samashti (total) Buddhi (intellect) also. Then appeared Ahankaar from Mahat Tattwa; from Ahankaar appeared Subtle Tanmaatraayen and eleven Indriyaan (senses). Later Panch Mahaa-Bhoot appeared form Tanmaatraayen, they are the cause of the world. Hey Naarad,  The names of those Bhoot are - Aakaash (Space), Vaayu (Air), Agni (Fire), Jal (Water), and Prithvi (Earth). They are the cause of the world in this sequence only.

After this the Creator Brahmaa  Jee created the world with Taamas Sarg (creation) - animals, birds, deer etc. Then He created Devtaa (Saatwik Sarg) from His Sanaatan Roop; and after that He created Raajas Sarg - human beings. Then He produced Daksh etc 10 sons who got ready to increase the population. This whole Universe is filled with their children.

Bhoor Lok, Bhuvar Lok, Swar Lok, Mahar Lok, Jan Lok, Tap Lok, and Satya Lok are located at one over the other in this sequence only. Atal, Vital, Sutal, Talaatal, Mahaatal, Rasaatal, and Paataal - these seven Lok are located one below the other in this sequence only. Brahmaa Jee produced Lokpaal also for these Lok. He created rivers, mountains in every country, arranged the means of living, necessary things for the inhabitants of that country.

In the middle of this Prithvi is Meru Parvat which is the dwelling place of all Devtaa. At the border of Prithvi, there is a Lokaalok Parvat. Between Meru and Lokaalok Parvat, there are seven Dweep (islands) and seven seas. There are seven mountains and many rivers in each Dweep. Here the people are like Devtaa.

Seven Dweep are - Jamboo, Pluksh, Shaalmali, Kush, Kraunch, Shaak, and Pushkar. All these are Devtaa's dwelling places. These seven Dweep are surrounded by seven seas - Kshaar (salty water), Ikshu juice, Sur, Ghee (clarified butter), Yogurt, milk, and sweet water. Each Dweep and seas is double the size of its previous Dweep and sea. They are located up to Lokaalok Parvat. North to salty water sea and south of Himaalaya is called Bhaarat Varsh. This country is the giver of fruits of all Karm.

Hey Naarad Jee, People living in Bhaarat Varsh do whatever Saatwik, Raajas and Taamasik Karm, their fruits are enjoyed in Bhog Bhoomi (in which people get the fruits of their Karm). Even today Devtaa desire to take birth in Bhaarat Varsh, because on the basis of those Karm they can attain better or worse places. They can do Yagya, Daan (charity), Tap etc here. Who worships Vishnu after being born in Bhaarat Varsh, he is worshipped by Devtaa also and attains Vishnu's Parampad. Thus Bhaarat Varsh is the holiest place on the earth.

Up to Brahm Lok, all Lok cause rebirth after all Punya are exhausted. Who has abandoned the desire of fruit of Karm, only he attains immortality or Vishnu's Parampad. A man must do Karm properly, whether he does it Sa-Kaam or Nish-Kaam. Who abandons the Karm of his Varn and Aashram, learned people call him Patit (fallen).
