Indra Fails to Destroy Sukalaa's Dharm       Story Ends...      Teerth Conti...

Vishnu said - "Sukalaa thought only about her husband. Indra also noticed the influence of her Paativrat Dharm, he thought that he would destroy her Dharm, so he remembered Kaam Dev and he appeared before him along with his wife Rati. Indra said to him - "I wish to attract Sukalaa to me, so help me in my endeavor." Kaam Dev said - "I will surely obey you. I have the power to win even great Rishi and Muni, she is only a woman. Woman is my home. If there are beauty and qualities in a man, a woman is attracted to him, whether he is brother, father, relation or friend. She never thinks twice. I will surely be able to destroy her Paativrat Dharm." Indra said - "Then I will go to her as a handsome and qualitative rich man."

So Indra went to Sukalaa and started displaying his beauty etc, but Sukalaa never looked at him, still wherever she went Indra followed her. Indra sent a female messenger to her, she admired her patience and forgiveness. She said to her - "Who are you? Whose wife are you? You husband is very Punyavaan." Sukalaa replied - "My husband is a religious Vaishya. He has gone to Teerth. Three years have passed, I am very sad without him. Now you tell me, who are you who is asking my welfare?" That messenger said - "Your husband is very cruel who has gone leaving you behind, here alone. Now what you will do of him? He is a sinner. Now you have no relation with him, and who knows whether he is alive or not. Why do you waste your beautiful body after him? Until you are young, enjoy the pleasures of life. Here is a man. He is very affectionate to you. He always thinks about your welfare. He never gets old and fulfills desires of all."

Sukalaa said - "This body is mortal, then why do you describe the beauty? And what special thing did you see in my body which is not found anywhere else? Only soul is immortal, and that has no shape and exists in everything. Whoever live in this world, I have seen them all alike. As water exists in various pitchers, in the same way soul also lives in various bodies. And as after the pitchers are broken all water becomes one, in the same way all souls also become one, when these bodies, made up of Sthool, Sookshm and Kaaran Shareer, are destroyed. Everybody has sexual desire and because of this they rub their bodies together, but that pleasure is only momentary. Everything becomes the same again. So you may go now, I am not interested."

The messenger went back to Indra and told him everything in short. Indra said - "Really there is no other woman like her in this world. She can bear the whole Tri-Lok." So Indra said to Kaam Dev - "Now I will go myself to see Sukalaa along with you." Kaam Dev was very proud of himself, so Indra and Kaam Dev came to see Sukalaa. She was sitting alone at the door of her house and was thinking about her husband. Indra appeared before her in a very attractive guise, but Sukalaa didn't pay any attention to him and went inside her house. Indra said to Kaam Dev - "You cannot affect this Satee. Only A-Gyaanee people make good people their enemy, therefore we should go from here. You know that I have already suffered for the unification with a Satee. Maharshi Gautam gave me a terrible Shaap." Kaam Dev said - "I came here only at your order, why do you talk now like a coward. People will laugh at me, therefore at least for my own respect, I will surely destroy her Paativrat Dharm. What are you afraid of?" Then he said to Kreedaa - "Go to Sukalaa and do something to help me." Then he said to Preeti - "You also go and control her with your sweet talks." Thus he sent all his army to control Sukalaa.

Seeing all this Satya said to Dharm - "I made a place for us to live here, Kaam Dev wants to destroy it. A husband having good conduct, Tapaswee Braahman and Pativrataa woman - these three places are for us. All good things also come there to live with us. Sukalaa is our dear house, but Kaam wants to destroy it. Why doesn't Indra remember the event of Ahalyaa for which he suffered?" Dharm said - "I will lessen the power of Kaam Dev, and if I wish, I can create a cause of his death even. I have thought a way by which Kaam will run away today only. This Pragyaa (intelligence) will go in disguise of a bird and inform her that her husband is coming home."

Pragyaa did the same and Sukalaa asked a good Braahman the meaning of that omen. Braahman said - "Your husband will be here within seven days, there is no doubt about it." Kreedaa also came and talked to Sukalaa in sweet voice. Her talks were very assertive and trustworthy. She said - "Devee, My husband has gone somewhere leaving me alone. It is the fruit of my previous Karm which is showing up now." Sukalaa heard all and got convinced that she was speaking truth. She also told her own story in brief. One day she said to Sukalaa - "See, There is a beautiful forest there, there is a Teerth there, let us go there to earn some Punya."

Hearing this Sukalaa got ready to go there, when she went there she felt that she was in Nandan Van. All kinds of flowers were blooming there and it was looking very beautiful. At the same time Indra also came there along with Kaam Dev and Rati. He said to Kaam, "See, This Sukalaa is standing here, do what you want to do." Kaam said - "Shiv has already destroyed my body, now I have to take a man's body to influence a woman and a woman's body to influence a man. Now I will use your body to affect Sukalaa." And he entered Indra's body.

Sukalaa asked Kreedaa whose forest it was? Kreedaa told her that it belonged to Kaam Dev. Sukalaa understood Kaam's evil mind so she did not accept those things of there. The then Rati came there with Preeti and said to Sukalaa - "Welcome, You enjoy with Rati and Preeti." Sukalaa said - "I always live with my husband. My Kaam, my Preeti all are in his feet. This body is only a shadow." Rati and Preeti got embarrassed hearing this and asked Kaam to leave Sukalaa alone. But Kaam Dev was not yet defeated. He sent Indra, Indra went there and asked her why did she not agree to accept him? Sukalaa said - "My husband's religious sons, Dharm, Satya etc are protecting me. Till my eyes are open I am busy doing my husband's work. Who are you who has come here without being afraid of death?"

Indra asked - "Show your guards, how can I see them?" Sukalaa said - "See, Satya is in front of me with Shaanti and Kshamaa. Satya never leaves me alone. Why do you want to get me forcefully. Even Indra cannot win me. If Kaam Dev comes here, I don't care, because I am covered with Satee armor. If you will see me with bad sight, I will burn you to ashes." Hearing this all went back immediately."

Krikal Comes Back

Vishnu said - "Krikal returned home after his Teerth Yaatraa thinking that his all Pitar must have gone to Swarg, that a huge man appeared before him tying his Pitar and said - "Your Punya was not good. You did not get the fruit of Teerth Yaatraa." Krikal got sad hearing this, he asked him - "Who are you who is saying like this? Why my father and grandfather are tied, and why didn't I get the fruit of Teerth Yaatraa?" The man said - "[I am Dharm] Who goes out leaving his Pativrataa wife alone, his all Dharm goes waste. Whoever has a Satee wife, Pitar also wish for his welfare and happiness. Punyavaan wife is helpful in observing all kinds of Dharm. There is no other Dharm than Grihasth Aashram. There is no Teerth like Pativrataa wife, there is no other comfort like wife, and there is no other means to earn Punya like wife. You have done Shraadh etc without your wife, that is why your Pitar are tied."

Krikal asked - "Hey Dharm, Now how will I get my Pitar freed?" Dharm said - "Go to your home. Your wife is very sad without you, console her and do Shraaddh with her only. Worship Devtaa also at home." Krikal came to his home, he got very happy to see his wife. He did Shraaddh with his wife and worshipped Devtaa. Devtaa, Muni etc came there in person and asked him to ask for any Var. Krikal asked - "My which Punya brought you here to give me Var?" Indra said - "It is because of Satee Sukalaa." Indra told him the account of his test of Sukalaa in brief. Krikal said - "I should always follow Dharm and Satya and I wish to go to Vishnu Dhaam along with my wife and Pitar." Devtaa said "So be it."

Vishnu said - "Thus a good wife is very important for Punya. All women should listen to this story sincerely and faithfully."
