Naarad-5 |
Naarad-5 Naarad Why Naarad Jee Wanders Around? Taken from Bhaagvat Puraan, 4/7 Everybody knows that Naarad Jee cannot sit at one place for long. He always wanders around. There are two curses on him, that is why he wanders around like this. It so happened that when Kaal's daughter Jaraa had grown up, she wanted to marry, but nobody was ready to marry her. She was very unfortunate that is why people used to call her "Durbhagaa". Once Raajaa Puru married her willingly, because he wanted to give his youth to his father Yayaati. Pleased with him she gave him Var of kingdom.
One day Naarad Jee also came on Prithvi so she met him too. Knowingly
fully well that Naarad Jee was a Brahmachaaree, she expressed her desire
to him too. Now he could not accept her request so she gave him the Shaap
that he wouldn't stay at one place for much time and will be wandering
throughout his life. He accepted her Shaap and since then he has been
wandering around. It was Daksh's Shaap also to him. Bhaagvat Puraan, 6/2 says that when Daksh Jee (son of Prachetaa Gan and Apsaraa Pramlochaa's daughter Maarishaa) wanted to produce people for this world, he produced 10,000 sons from his wife Asiknee for this purpose. All were named Haryashwa and all looked alike. He asked them to further produce children. So they went to do Tap and as they took bath before to start their Tap, their heart inclined towards Vairaagya, still they considered to obey their father; but at the same time Naarad Jee came there and preached them Bhaagvat Dharm and they went to forest. Seeing this Daksh Jee got very angry at Naarad Jee, but still he produced another 1,000 sons, they were named Shabalaashwa, from his wife Asiknee and ordered them to produce children. So they also went to do Tap and following their elder brothers they also took bath in the same Sarovar before going for Tap and after that they also got inclined towards Bhaagvat Dharm. Still they decided to obey their father. So when they came out of the Sarovar, they also met Naarad Jee and he preached them the same Bhaagvat Dharm which he preached to their elder brothers. Hearing Naarad Jee's preaching they also went to do Tap. When Daksh Jee heard this that Naarad Jee had misguided his children again, he cursed him - "You have done very bad to us. They have not yet paid the Rishi Rin, through Brahmcharya, Dev Rin through Yagya, and Pitri Rin through producing sons, and you have destroyed their pleasures of both Lok. Once you have done this before also, we tolerated it, but this time I will not tolerate it. I curse you that you also wander in all Lok and do not stay at one place." Naarad Jee accepted his Shaap and since then he has been wandering in all Lok and does not stay at one place.
