Chaar Dhaam

Chaar means four and Dhaam means place or house. Here Dhaam means House of God. There are Chaar Dhaam in India in Hindu religion. People believe that one should go there in his lifetime. They are located in all the four directions. They are - Badaree Naath Jee (Vishnu) in Badaree Naath, Uttaraakhand in North, Jagannaath Puree (Krishn) in Puree, in Udeesaa in East, Raameshwaram (Shiv Ling) at Raameshwaram, in Tamilnaadu in South, and Dwaarakaa Jee (Krishn) in Dwaarakaa, in Gujaraat in West. People also believe that after going to these four places one must go to Pushkar Jee (in Raajasthaan) to complete this Yaatraa (Pilgrimage), otherwise the Yaatraa remains incomplete.

Another Chaar Dhaam is famous in Badaree Naath area. There also people go to four places to complete their pilgrimage. Those places are - Badaree Naath Jee, Kedaar Naath Jee, Gauree Kund, and
