First Seven Manvantar

Maitreya Jee said - "Hey Guru Jee, You told me about the location of Prithvi, seas, Sun etc planets. You told me about the creation of Devtaa, Rishi and other species, Dhruv and Prahlaad also. Now I wish to hear about all Manvantar, Indra, Devtaa, Manu etc."

Paraashar said - "Now I tell you about all Manvantar - past and future. The first Manu was Swaayambhuv Manu. After him were Swaarochish, Uttam, Taamas, Raivat and Chaakshush Manu. These six Manu were in the last six Manvantar. This Manvantar's Manu is Soorya's son Vaivaswat whose Manvantar is the present seventh Manvantar. I have already told you about Devtaa, Saptarshi of the first Manvantar. Now you listen to the second Manvanytar's - Swaarochish Manvantar. Paraavat and Tushit Gan were Devtaa. Mighty Vipashchit was Dev Raaj Indra. Oorjj, Stambh, Praan, Vaat, Prishabh, Niraya, and Pareevaan were Saptarshi. Chaitra and Kimpurush etc were Manu's sons.

Now you listen to the third Manvantar, Uttam Manvantar. In this Manvantar, Uttam was Manu, and Sushaanti was Indra. Sudhaam, Satya, Jap, Pratardan and Vashvartee - these five were Dev Gan of 12 Devtaa each. Vashishth's seven sons were Saptarshi, and Aj, Parashu and Deept etc were Manu's sons.

In fourth Manvantar, Taamas Manvantar, Supaar, Hari, Satya and Sudhi were the four classes of Devtaa and each class had 27 Devtaa. Raajaa Shibi who had done 100 Ashwamedh Yagya, was Indra. Jyotirdhaamaa, Prithu, Kaavya, Chaitra, Agni, Vanak, and Peevar were Saptarshi. Nar, Khyaati, Keturoop, Jaanujangh etc were Taamas Manu's sons.

In fifth Manvantar, Raivat Manvantar, Raivat was Manu, and Vibhu was Indra. There were Amitaabh, Bhootraya, Vaikunth and Sumedhaa - four Dev classes of 14 Devtaa each. Hiranyaromaa, Vedshree, Oordhwabaahu, Vedbaahu, Sudhaamaa, Parjanya and Mahaamuni were the Saptarshi. Balbandhu, Sambhaavya, Satyak etc were Manu's sons. Hey Maitreya, Swaarochish, Uttam, Taamas and Raivat are said to be the descendents of Priyavrat. Priyavrat got these four Manu after doing Tapasyaa for Vishnu.

In sixth Manvantar, Chaakshush was Manu and Manojav was Indra. Sumedhaa, Virajaa, Havishmaan, Uttam, Madhu, Atinaamaa and Sahishnu were Saptarshi. Ooru, Pooru, Shatdyumn etc were Manu's sons.

In seventh Manvantar, Vaivaswat Manvantar - the present Manvantar, Soorya's son Shraadhdev is Manu. Aaditya, Vasu, and Rudra etc are Dev Gan. Purandar is Indra. Vashishth, Kashyap, Atri, Jamadagni, Gautam, Vishwaamitra and Bharadwaaj are Saptarshi. Ikshwaaku, Nrig, Dhrisht, Sharyaati, Narishyant, Naabhaag, Arisht, Karoosh and Prishadhra are nine sons of Manu.

In all Manvantar, Vishnu's power is the cause of all creation. In the first manvantar, Yagya Purush, born from Aakriti, was Avataar. In second Manvantar, Swaarochish Manvantar, He was born as Ajit with Tushit Dev Gan from Tushitaa. In third Manvantar, Uttam Manvantar, the same Tushit Dev was born from Satyaa as Satya with Satya Gan Devtaa. In fourth Manvantar, Taamas Manvantar, He was born from Haryaa as Hari with Hari named Dev Gan. After this, in fifth Manvantar, Raivat Manvantar, He was born from Sambhooti as Maanas with that Manvantar's Dev Gan. In sixth Manvantar, Chaakshush Manvantar, He was born as Vaikunth from Vikunthaa with Vaikunth named Dev Gan. * And in this seventh Manvantar, Vaivaswat Manvantar, Vishnu has appeared as Vaaman in Kashyap and Aditi's house. He measured Trilok in three steps and gave it to Purandar.

*This seems to be an anomaly here. Vaikunth Devtaa were in fifth Manvantar, Raivat Manvantar. Then how come that He was born in sixth Manvantar as Vaikunth with Vaikunth Dev Gan?

Thus in these seven Manvantar, Bhagvaan appeared in seven forms. They increased population of Prithvi. This whole world is full of His power only, that is why He is called Vishnu. "Vish" means enter. Devtaa, Manu, Saptarshi, Manu's children al are Vishnu's Vibhooti (expressions).

Future Seven Manvantar

Maitreya Jee said - "Now you tell me about the future Manvantar." Paraashar Jee said - "Soorya married Vishwakarmaa's daughter Sangyaa. She had three children - Vaivaswat Manu, Yam and Yamee (Yamunaa). Later she could not tolerate Soorya's grace, so she created her "shadow" Chhaayaa, installed her as Soory's wife and went for Tapasyaa. Soorya considered her as Sangyaa and produced three more children from her - one more Manu, Shanaishchar and Tapatee

One day when Chhaayaa vursed Yam in anger, then only Soorya knew that he was not Sangyaa, but somebody else. Soorya found by Samaadhi that Sangyaa was doing Tapasyaa in the form of a mare. So he changed his form to a horse and gave her a twin sons - Ashwinee Kumaar. and Revant. He brought Sangyaa home and Vishwakarmaa cut his grace by putting him on a shining wheel and cut his grace. He could reduce his 1/8th part of grace only. That part of grace fell on Prithvi. From that grace he built Vishnu's Sudarshan disc, Shankar's trident, Kuber's Vimaan (airplane - Pushpak Vimaan), Kaartikeya's Power, and other Devtaa's weapons. Since the second Manu was called Saavarni.

In the next eighth Manvantar, this Saavarni will be Manu. Sutap, Amitaabh etc will be Dev Gan Each Gan will consist of 20 Devtaa. Deeptimaan, Gaalav, Raam, Kripaa, Ashwatthaamaa, my son Vyaas and Rishyashring will be Saptarshi. Paataal Lok's Virochan's son Bali will be Indra. Virajaa, Urvareevaan, Nirmok etc will be Manu's sons.

The ninth Manvantar will be Daksh Saavarni Manvantar. Paar, Mareechigarbh and Sudharmaa named three classes will be of Devtaa - each consisting of 12 Devtaa. Adbhut will be Indra. Savan, Dyutimaan, Bhavya, Vasu, Medhaatithi, Jyotishmaan and Satya will be Saptarshi. Dhritketu, Deeptiketu, Panch-hast, Niraamaya and prithushravaa etc will be Manu's sons.

The tenth Manu will be Brahm Saavarni. There will be two Devtaa Gan - Sudharmaa and Vishuddh - each consisting of 100 Devtaa. Shaanti will be their Indra Havishmaan, Sukrit, Satya, Tapomoorti, Naabhaag, Apratimanjaa, and Satyaketu will be Saptarshi. Sukshetra, Uttamaujaa, Bhoorishen etc will be 10 sons of Manu.

The eleventh Manu will be Dharm Saavarni. Dev Gan will be Vihangam, Kaamgam and Nirvaanrati - each group consisting of 30 Devtaa. Vrish will be their Indra. Niswar, Agnitejaa, Vapushmaan, Ghrini, Aaruni, Havishmaan and Anagh will be Saptarshi. Sarvatrag, Sudharmaa, Devaaneek etc will be Manu's sons.

The twelfth Manu will be Rudra's son Saavarni. Ritudhaamaa will be Indra. Harit, Rohit, Sumanaa, Sukarmaa and Suraap - these five will be Devtaa Gan each consisting of 10 Devtaa. Tapaswee, Sutapaa, Tapomoorti, Taporati, Tapodhriti, Tapodyuti, and Tapodhan will be Saptarshi. Devavaan, Upadev, Devshreshth etc will be Manu's sons.

The thirteenth Manu will be Ruchi. In this Manvantar, Sutraamaa, Sukarmaa and Sudharmaa will be Dev Gan consisting of 33 Devtaa each.  Divaspati will be their Indra. Nirmoh, Tattwadarshee, Nishprakamp, Nirutsuk, Dhritimaan, Avyaya, and Sutapaa will be Saptarshi. Chitrasen, Vichitra etc will be Manu's sons.

The fourteenth Manu will be Bhaum. Shuchi will be Indra and there will be five Dev Gan - Chaakshush, Pavitra, Kanishth, Bhraajik and Vaachaavriddh. Agnibaahu, Shuchi, Shukra, Maagadh, Aagneedhra, Yukt and Jit will be Saptarshi. Ooru Gambheerbuddhi etc will be Manu's sons.

In the end of every Chatur-Yug Ved disappear. At that time Saptarshi Gan descend from Swarg Lok and spread them. In the beginning of every Sat Yug, Manu author of Smriti Shaastra, appears and the current Dev Gan enjoy Yagya share till the end of that Manvantar (71+ Chatur-Yug period). Manu's sons and descendents take care of Prithvi till the end of that Manvantar. In the same way, Manu, Saptarshi, Devtaa, Indra and Manu's sons are the Lords of each Manvantar.

After these 14 Manvantar (1,000 Chatur-Yug period) are over, this Kalp is supposed to be over. Then there is night of the same period (1,000 Chatur-Yug). At that time Vishnu sleeps on Shesh Naag bed on water. It is called Pralaya Raatri (Deluge night). In the beginning of every Kalp Bhagvaan wakes up and with the help of Rajo Gun creates the world. Manu and manu's sons, Indra, Devtaa, Saptarshi - they are all Saatwik part of Vishnu.

Now you listen to "how Vishnu manages the four Yug". He appears as Kapil in Sat Yug and preaches Dharm. In Tretaa Yug, He appears as Chakravartee and kills demons. In Dwaapar Yug He appears as Ved Vyaas and divides one Ved into four parts and then in hundreds of branches. And in Kali Yug, He appears as Kalki and bring evil people on good path. There is nothing in this world different from Him. Now what do you want to listen to."
