Ram in Chitrakut, Dashratha Tells Shravan's Incident and Dies

Happily Ram, Sita, Laxman reached on the River's another bank,
Rama offered a diamond ring, but boatman said" No Ram! Thanks".
First Laxman came out of the boat then dear Sita with loving Ram,
Nishad was holding the boat, looking at Ram the holder of charm.
The boatman received Lord's devotion and life's every thing,
Ram thanked the boatman and returned dear Sita her ring.
Ram, Sita, and Laxman were cheerful on their endeavor,
They were pleased with the boatman's courteous behavior.
Ram, Sita, Laxman and Nishad were together proceeding in the woods,
After some time they reached to holy shrine of Prayag with the goods.
Sita, Ram, Laxman were praying and bathing in tri-stream of Rivers,
Three colored waters were splendid, Ganga, Yamuna, Sarswati Rivers.
In the afternoon they reached at the Bhardwaj muni's fine institution,
The muni was joyous to receive, Ram, Sita, Laxman with appreciation.
Some time the group stayed there, learned about the region's details,
The muni offered guides to the group along with some important mails.
With the guides, Ram, Sita, Laxman reached at Risi Valmiki's Ashram,
They offered obeisance to the Risi, made comfortable in the Ashram.
Ram asked the Risi, "Where should we live, please suggest a place",
The Risi replied, "O Ram! You are omniscient, our lives' very lace".
"Please live in the hearts of those, who remember you and surrendered,
Please live in the homes of virtuous, in a life to others help rendered".
"The place is Chitrakut, beautiful gardens, rocks and Mandakini River,
Make Chitrakut your home, Atri Risi be the warden, your fine cover".
Ram went with assistance to Chitrakut, finds a place named Kamadgiri,
Two beautiful huts were made there; Ram's home is now Kamadgiri.
Sita, Ram and Laxman became used to new life of beautiful jungle,
Splendid mountains, crystal clear river, fruits, flowers; non-to haggle.
The local residents came to visit the place of dear Sita, Ram, Laxman,
Some gods became locals to worship Ram and listen to the divine man.
Saints, mystics, yogis became friends of dear Ram, he has some years,
The jungle became friendly to new comers; sure Ram will be in peers,
Nishad was there for few days than returned to home with heavy heart,
He was not able to console himself; what happen to his friend, so smart.
The minister Sumantra was still there at Shrengverpur in fragile stage,
Nishad gave him some guides to return home, Sumantra as a lost sage.
Sumantra entered the city in nighttime to save him from sad question,
The king was in Koshlya's palace, tried of the Kakeyee's association.
Sumantra offered his respect to the king with tears dropping on cheek,
"Sumantra! Where were you lost, how are Sita, Ram, Laxman, Speak".
"Did you request them to return home, to save my life, broken heart?
You do not look good, failed in the mission, you were taken as smart".
"I see no hope to save life, Sita, Ram, Laxman are constantly in mind,
My end is very near O Koshlya, Sumantra, I have nothing as to grind".
"I remember the curse which was laid on me by a frail, blind saint,
It was my youth; I was fan of shooting arrows in dark with stunt".
"It was a shooting on perception of sound, as I foolishly did there,
I thought it was a beast drinking water on the reservoir, somewhere".
"Pretty soon I heard sad groaning in a human voice, loud and deep,
I rushed there, it was a young man holding my arrow, as I did peep".
"I tried to save the young man, feeling very bad on my shooting act",
"Please take water for my parents under the tree, "said the boy perfect".
"My parents are thirsty, please save their lives, and take out the arrow"
"The you man died then there, as I was carefully taking out the arrow".
"I took water in the pot and went to the old blind couple under the tree,
They refused to drink the water; cursed me, on careless hunting spree".
"O Dashratha! We will commit suicide by entering the burning fire,
You will also die in the separation of your son; this is our only desire".
"The blind couple set up fire and consumed their bodies in short while,
I see a dream, those blind saints are there, there faces are with smile",
King Dashratha said loudly Ram! O Ram! O Ram, then he was dying,
Queen Koshlya holds his head in the lap, tried to console, while crying.
King Dashratha died soon in separation of his son Ram, Sita, Laxman,
He was a very good man, kept his words, what a love for Ram, O man!"
