Four Types of Beings
(1) Andaj - which are born from eggs (birds, crocodiles, fish etc)
(2) Swedaj - which are born from sweat (worms, flying insects etc)
(3) Jaraayuj - which are born secured in bags (human beings, four-legged animals etc)
(4) Udbhij - Sthaavar creation (trees, creepers, grass etc)

Four-fold Goals of Human Existence
Vedic Astrology is an indispensable tool for achieving, what the Vedas proclaim as the four-fold goals of human existence :-
Dharm - Life Purpose, duties
Arth - Prosperity, related to wealth
Kaam - Pleasure
Moksh - Spiritual Liberation

Four Things Related to Moon
(1) Chakor bird - Chakor is crazy after the Moon. It continuously looks at it.
(2) Chakavaa  bird - Chakavaa and its female Chakavee cannot see each other while the Moon is out, even if they are sitting next to each other. They just call each other the whole night.
(3) Kamalinee flower - Kamalinee flower blooms seeing the Moon and closes in the morning before sunrise. 
(4) Lotus flower - Opposite to the Kamalinee flower, the lotus flower blooms seeing the Sun and closes with sunset. To add to it Bhramar (Bhanvaraa, or bumble bee) loves lotus flower very much. It sits there to extract honey, but in love it forgets when evening falls and thus closes itself inside the lotus flower. When lotus flower blooms in the morning, the bee is already dead thus loses its life in love of lotus flower.

Four Holy Abodes (Dhaam)
Badareenaath in North, Jagannaath Puree in East, Raameshwaram in South, and Dwaarakaa Puree in West. But their Yaatraa (visit) is incomplete if Pushkar Jee (in Raajsthaan, near Ajamer) is not visited in the last.

Four Life-long Brahmchaaree
(1) Hanumaan Jee  (2) Naarad Jee  (3) Bheeshm Pitaamah  (4) Sankaadi Muni

Four Places of Kumbh
Every 12 years Kumbh falls in these places with the difference of three years.
(1) Haridwaar, (UP)  (2) Allaahaabaad, (UP)  (3) Ujjain, (Madhya Pradesh)  (4) Naasik, (Mahaaraashtra)

Four Varn
(1) Braahman - born from Aadi Purush's mouth, and their Dharm is to study and teach Dharm to other Varn, to do Yagya for themselves and others (2) Kshatriya - born from the arms of Aadi Purush, and their Dharm is to protect other Varn (3) Vaishya - born from thighs of Aadi Purush, and their Dharm is to do trade and business  (4) Shoodra - born from the feet of Aadi Purush, and their Dharm is to serve other Varn.

(1) Rig Ved  (2) Yajur Ved  (3) Atharv Ved  (4) Saam Ved

Five Elements (Panch Mahaa Bhoot)

Five Satee
There are five Satee Stree (faithful to husband):  
(1) Satee Draupadee (Paandav's wife)       (2) Satee Mandodaree (Raavan's wife)
(3) Satee Sulakshanaa (Meghnaad's wife)  (4) Satee Anasooyaa (Rishi Atri's wife)
(5) Satee Saavitree (Satyavaan's wife)

Five Immortal Purush
(1) Naarad Jee,  (2) Ashwatthaamaa (Dronaachaarya's son),  (3) Hanumaan Jee,  (4) Vibheeshan, and (5) Kripaachaarya

Others are - Takshak Naag, Maarkandeya Muni, Kaagbhushundi Jee, Ved Vyaas, Parashuraam, Daitya Raaj Bali. Among them Kaagbhushundi is very special. Tulsee's Maanas says that he has lived for over 27 Kalp,

Six Branches of Ved
(1) Shikshaa (Phonetics), (2) Vyaakaran (Grammar), (3) Chhand (Prosody), (4) Nirukt (Etymology), (5) Jyotish (Astronomy), (6) Kalap (Rituals)

Six Seasons

Six Chakra
There are six Chakra in a human body where six lotuses bloom, They are:
Moolaadhaar Chakra - Gudaa Mandal (Anus) Chakra, (yellow color lotus with four petals
Swaadhishthaan Chakra - in the root of the penis, (red color lotus with six petals)
Manipur Chakra - in the root of navel, (blue color lotus with ten petals)
Anaahat Chakra - in heart, (golden color lotus with twelve petals)
Vishuddh Chakra - in neck, (red color lotus with sixteen petals)
Aagyaa Chakra - in the center of eye brows, (white color lotus with two petals)
The seventh lotus, the white color lotus, is in the head of the human being, which has thousand petals and on that Lord Vishnu, the symbol of man's spiritual knowledge, sits.

Seven Visible Planets
There are seven visible planets - (1) Sun, (2) Moon, (3) Mars, (4) Mercury, (5) Jupiter, (6) Venus, (7) Saturn

Seven Days in a Week
There are seven Days in a week - Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Seven Parvat (Mountains)
(1) Mahendra Parvat (in Orissaa)            (2) Malaya Parvat (in Mysore)
(3) Raivatak (Girnaar in Gujraat)           (4) Vindhyaachal (in Central India)

Seven Rishi or Sapt Rishi (Ursa Major or The Great Bear)
Every Manvantar has seven Rishi. They are different in every Manvantar. Following are the Sapt Rishi in the present Manvantar:
(1) Maharshi Kashyap  (2) Maharshi Atri  (3) Maharshi Vashishth  (4) Maharshi Vishwaamitra  (5) Maharshi Gautam  (6) Maharshi Bharadwaaj (7) Maharshi Jamadagni.

These seven Rishi are represented in the sky as Great Bear pointing to Polar star (Dhruv Taara)

Seven Swar (Notes) in Music
(1) Shadaj, (Sa)  (2) Rishabh, (Ray)  (3) Gandhaar, (Ga)  (4) Madhyam, (Ma)  (5) Pancham, (Pa)  (6) Dhaivat, (Dha)  (7) Nishaad, (Nee).

Eight Elephants
There are only eight elephants who are born in Devtaa Yoni - 
(1) Kumud,  (2) Airaavat,  (3) Padm,  (4) Pushpdant,  (5) Vaaman,  (6) Suprateek,  (7) Anjan,  (8) Saarvbhaum

Nava Grah (Planets)

Nine Idols
The nine idols which Vaishnav people worship are of: (among which the first four are the different forms of Shree Krishn only) : (1) Vaasudev, (2) Sankarshan, (3) Pradyumn, (4) Aniruddh, (5) Naaraayan, 
(6) Hayagreev, (7) Varaah, (8) Nrasinh, and (9) Brahmaa.

Nine Qualities
(1) Sham - Calmness. Hindu scriptures put a great stress on Sham which brings the internal peace. It brings the reward of happiness and gives the person the ability to face difficulties and unpleasant events in life to conquer and to think of the meaning of the life.

(4) Shauch - Cleanliness, Purification
(5) Kshamaa - Forgiveness
(6) Saraltaa - Simplicity
(7) Gyaan - Knowledge

Nine Ras
There are several meanings of Ras:-
(1) To feel
(2) Juice, essence, sap, taste
(3) Sentiments in poetry. There are nine Ras in Hindi poetry literature - nine types of feelings (some say they are eleven). They are like this:-
(i) Shringaar Ras - sexual love, of two types: Sanyog and Viyog, meaning meeting and separation
(ii) Veer Ras - heroic (normally found in war poetry or songs)
(iii) Veebhats Ras - disgust
(iv) Raudra Ras - anger
(v) Haasya Ras - comic and humor
(vi) Bhayaanak Ras - fright
(vii) Karun Ras - pity
(viii) Adbhut Ras - wonder
(ix) Shaant Ras - peace 
(x) Vaatsalya Ras - parental love
(xi) Bhakti Ras - devotional (normally found in devotional songs)

Nine Ratn (of Akbar's Court)
There were nine Gems (Nava Ratn) in Emperor Akbar the Great's court. Akbar ruled India from 1560 to 1605. Their names were:
(1) Birbal - the very witty Minister and personal advisor of Akbar. He has lots of his stories on his credit for everybody to laugh at and learning
(2) Taansen - the renowned musician of India. He used to light fire and bring rains through his singing
(3) Raajaa Todarmal - his financial wizard,
(4) Raajaa Maan Singh - mighty general, famous for his chivalry,
(5) Abul Fazal - a great historian
(6) Faizi - brother of Abul Fazal, a great poet
(7) Daswant - a great painter
(8) Abdu us-Samad - a brilliant calligrapher and designer of Imperial coins
(9) Mir Fareh-ullah Shirazi - financier, philosopher, physician and astronomer

Nine Ratn (of Vikramaaditya's Court)
There were nine Gems (Nav Ratn) in Vikramaaditya's court also.
(1) Dhanvantari - enlightened the world upon the subjects of medicines and incantations.
(2) Kshapanak - treated the primary elements.
(3) Amar Sinh - compiled a Sanskrit dictionary and a philosophical treatise.
(4) Shanku - compose comments, and Khatkarpar - a poetical work
(6) Kaalidaas - a very good Sanskrit poet - he wrote Shakuntalaa, Meghdoot, Raghuvansh, Vikram and Urvashee etc
(7) Vetaal Bhatt - a Braahman who is attributed to a Neeti booklet of 16 stanzas - Neeti Pradeep (Lamp of Conduct)
(8) Vararuchi - introduced improvements in grammar, commented upon incantations and wrote a poem in praise of King Maadhav.
(9) Varaahmihir - an astrologer - he predicted the death of the son of Vikramaaditya, produced works on astrology and Arithmetic.

Nine Main Incarnations of Vishnu
(1) Matsya Avataar (The Fish Incarnation),
(2) Koorm Avataar (The Tortoise Incarnation),
(3) Varaah Avataar (The Boar Incarnation)
(4) Narasinh Avataar (The Man with Lion Head Incarnation),
(5) Vaaman Avataar (The Dwarf Incarnation, Vaaman means 52 so this Avataar was only a 52 finger-width tall child),
(6) Parashuraam Avataar (The Raam with Axe Incarnation),
(7) Raam Avataar (The Raam Incarnation in Soorya Vansh)
(8) Krishn Avataar (The Krishn Incarnation in Chandra Vansh)
(9) Buddha Avataar (The Gautam Buddha Incarnation)
(10) Kalki Avataar - Yet to come, will be at the end of the Kali Yug to bring Sat Yug ---
