No 1 :  According to Subramaniam's Book "Mahabharata", p 518-523.

Yudhishthir said - "Kill me Arjun, first you kill me. I killed Abhimanyu." And he fainted away. Krishn also couldn't stand up, He also sat down near Bheem. His eyes were filled with tears. He took Bheem's hand in His hand and squeezed it in silent sympathy.

Arjun also  broke into tears. He said, "He knew only how to enter, he did not know how to come out, everybody knew it, then who sent him there?" Then he said to Yudhishthir - "How could you allow him to send there without any help? How could this happen? Tell me who killed him? I am sure that there was some foul play otherwise he could not be killed." He fainted with grief. When he came to senses he said - "He was just a kid. If they wanted to fight they could have fought with me. Why did they choose that kid? And all of them fought with that kid together? This is hundred percent injustice and cheating."

Arjun said - "Did you not know that he didn't know coming out of the Vyooh?" Bheem said - "We knew it, and we were there to help him, but..." Arjun asked - "But what..?" Bheem said - "That Sindhu's king Jayadrath stopped us entering that Vyooh. He defied all of us. We couldn't do anything." Arjun couldn't believe this too. Then Krishn said - "After being insulted by Draupadee in Van and getting his life back from Paandav, he did Tap for Mahaadev and got this Var. That in the war he could defy all Paandav when Arjun and Krishn were not there. That day was today and that is why nobody could defeat him today."

Krishn said - "Arjun, Do not grieve for him. He died like a hero. Who do not know running away from the battlefield, they have to die in one or the other war. Look at your brothers, they are more sad than you. Get up and comfort them. You cannot imagine how much they must have suffered today." Arjun understood something, he got up and went to Yudhishthir and Bheem, fell on their feet and asked for their forgiveness for his bad words to them." Then he asked Nakul, Sahadev, Saatyaki, Dhrishtdyumn as how it happened.

I can go in, but I don't know coming out of it. If I get caught inside, and if there is any danger, I will not be able to come out. That worries me. This Vyooh has a knack of automatic closing after someone has entered." Here Yudhishthir broke down, he could not speak any more.

Bheem continued - "So we assured him that we would be just behind him and as soon as he would enter the gate we will also enter behind him. We were all there. The last we saw him when he turned around and looked at us smiling." And Bheem also sobbed. Yudhishthir said - "We followed him, we saw him entering the Vyooh, we could have gone easily, but as we wanted to enter, Jayadrath came and stood before us. I thought that we will easily defeat him, but we coild not do so and the petals of the Vyooh got closed again. We saw the child going in but we stood helpless outside. We could hear that he fought bravely with several warriors together but in the end he was killed." Yudhishthir could not tell how he was killed.

Arjun asked Krishn - "Krishn, I don't understand that how could Jayadrath defy my four brothers?" Krishn said - "If you have to complain, complain to Mahaadev. He gave this Var to him knowingly fully well." Then Krishn told him about getting Jayadrath's Var from Shiv Jee. He said - "When Jayadrath was insulted by Draupadee, and pardoned by Yudhishthir, he went to do Tap to Mahaadev. Mahaadev gave him Darshan and asked him to ask any Var. Jayadrath said  - "I want to kill all Paandav." Mahaadev said - "It is not possible, but I will give you another Var. During the war you will be able to defy four Paandav when Arjun and Krishn are not around." Jayadrath unwillingly got satisfied with this Var. Today was that day. So if you have to complain, complain to Mahaadev, because he gave this Var to him knowingly fully well."

The gloom lifted from all of them. Now they were ready to take revenge from those six people and Jayadrath who stopped Paandav to help that kid. Still no one slept that night in that camp. Many people came to offer flowers on Abhimanyu's pyre, but Arjun didn't allow Jayadrath to do that.

Drone was happy that he could do that what he had promised to do that day. He killed one great warrior from Paandav' side. Duryodhan was not dissatisfied with Susharmaa's defeat and killing of his all brothers and his army, but was happy that at least Abhimanyu was killed. But as they heard the sound of Arjun's Gaandeev and Krishn's Paanchjanya conch, they got scared. They didn't understand what it meant. Because in general they meant happiness, but it was not expected from their camp. So Duryodhan waited for his spies to bring some news from there.

No 2 :  According to Subramaniam's Book "Mahabharata", p 524-525

Jayadrath, said - "I have no other way to save myself except to run away from the field. I will go back to my kingdom, or to my father. No one kills a man who has run away from the battlefield. Arjun is righteous, he wouldn't kill me if I did that." Duryodhan laughed at Jayadrath and said - "You are terrified like a child. Arjun cannot kill you. You said that you will run away and being righteous he will not kill you, but killing Abhimanyu was also not righteous. Remember what he said, "Even if he is in the shelter of Shankar himself, I will kill him." that is why there is no use of your running away. Don't worry, we will guard you and you will be safe. Even Indra cannot do any harm to you. Karn, Shalya, Vikarn, Durmukh, Dushaasan, Ashwatthaamaa, Shakuni everybody will be there to protect you. I will see that not a hair of your head is touched. And if we had been successful to save you till sunset then Arjun will immolate himself; and if he did that we will win Paandav easily without Arjun." But Jayadrath was still not assured enough so they went to Drone.

Drone said - "But that is all beside the point. I am here to protect you from Arjun tomorrow. I will build the Vyooh, consisting three Vyooh, tomorrow which will baffle even Arjun. I will try my best to protect you, but somehow if I fail, you will have to face death. Go and take rest. I myself will be guarding all the Vyooh, so it will be next to impossible for him to reach you. I am going to build a triple Vyooh tomorrow. The first Vyooh will be Sakat Vyooh, the second one will be Chakra Vyooh (Padm Vyooh), and the last one, inside this Chakra Vyooh, will be Sucheemukh Vyooh. And at the far end of this Vyooh will be you guarded by all great warriors. Since I will be guarding Vyooh myself, it will not easy to past me through. Maybe, by the time he reaches the third Vyooh, it will be evening, and he will have to immolate himself." Thus got assured a bit Jayadrath went to his tent.
