Mayoordhwaj, Raajaa
From   Jaimini's Mahaabhaaart, Ashwamedh Parv

Mayoordhwaj was the king of a country in North. He was a great Vishnu Bhakt. He had a son named Taamradhwaj. When Yudhishthir had released his Ashwamedh Yagya horse, Mayoordhwaj also did an Ashwamedh Yagya and he also released his horse. Both horses met. Taamradhwaj, his son, in the hope to have Shree Krishn in his kingdom at the end of the 8th Yagya, captured Yudhishthir's horse and got ready to fight with Arjun. Krishn took the lead of Arjun's army. After many defeats, Arjun asked Krishn to stop this fight and becomes his charioteer. Arjun gets defeated. Krishn takes His Chakra and jumps at Taamradhwaj. Taamradhwaj profusely praises Krishn and then falls at Krishn's feet. He takes hold of Krishn and tries to grab Arjun also.

Krishn thinks it is difficult to defeat Taamradhwaj like that, so He decides to try a trick. Arjun follows His trick. Both pretend that they are dead. Seeing both dead, Taamradhwaj abandons them in the battle field and goes to his father. Mayooradhwaj scolds Taamradhwaj for abandoning Krishn and Arjun after taking hold of them. Taamradhwaj then returns to battlefield. Left by Taamradhwaj in the battlefield, Krishn disguises as a Bhikshu and Arjun disguises as his student. They enter Mayoordhwaj's capital. They are impressed that everyone in the city is a Krishn Bhakt. Mayooradhwaj is asked to offer his flesh to a lion to save the Bhikshu from a predicament. He asks his wife and son to cut him in half. When Mayooradhwaj is half cut, Krishn is pleased by his Bhakti and reveals his true form. Mayooradhwaj abandons his Yagya and joins Arjun along with his son Taamradhwaj.

In Satyanaaraan Kathaa, a King's name comes - Moradhwaj who pleased Bhagavaan by cutting the body of his son. I wonder whether this is the same name or somebody else's name; and if he cut himself or his son's body?
