Sarg 84-Bharat Meets Guh Nishaad

Guh saw Bharat's army resting on Gangaa's bank. He said to his family and friends - "See, How large army it is on the bank of Gangaa. Bharat has brought this army because I can see the flag on his chariot. He will arrest our people and then kill Raam because he wants to rule on the whole kingdom. Raam is my fast friend and well wisher, so you just keep watch on the bank for the safety of Raam."

Hearing this all mighty Nishaad came to the bank of Gangaa and walked around in front of Bharat's army. There were 500 boats and on each boat were 100 Nishaad ready to fight if need be. Guh said to them - "If Bharat wanted to go to see Raam then his army will be taken across happily." Saying this Guh went to Bharat with fish, meat. honey like gifts. When Sumantra saw Guh coming, he said to Bharat - "See the old Guh Nishaad, he is fast friend of Raam and this whole kingdom is his. He lives here with his thousands of brothers and friends. You should meet him because he must be knowing where is Raam now?"

Guh came to see Bharat and said - "Hey Bharat, This place is like your garden. But you have cheated us by not informing us before, so we couldn't do anything to welcome you. This is all yours, so please stay here and accept our small gifts. I am thinking that you should take food then take rest here, and go tomorrow morning. This is our desire.

Sarg 85-Bharat Clears Guh's Doubts

Bharat said - "Hey friend of my Swaamee, I appreciate your thoughtfulness that you thought about to welcome our such a large army. Your wish is fulfilled as you said it to us. Now you tell us which way to take to go to Bharadwaaj Muni's Aashram? This is very difficult path." Guh said - "I will send some Nishaad who know the way very well and I myself will also go with you. But tell me that you are not going to see Raam with bad mind, because we are doubtful after seeing your army."

Bharat said - "Hey Nishaad Raaj, Whatever doubts are in your mind, may Bhagvaan not show that day to me. You don't doubt. Raam is my eldest brother and I am going to bring Him back from the forest, so clear your doubts. I am telling you the truth." Guh got happy to hear this. He said - "Bless you, I have never seen such a brother. Your story will spread all around."

Evening fell. So Bharat ordered his army to sleep and he himself also went to sleep. But he could not sleep, he remembered Raam very much, so he came to see Guh. Guh consoled him in several ways.

Sarg 86-Guh Admires Lakshman

Guh told Bharat about Lakshman's good behavior and said - "It is difficult to be obedient brother like Lakshman. I want to tell you about that day when they came here. On that night, Lakshman guarded sleeping Raam and Seetaa whole night with bow and arrow in His hand. I requested Him several times to take rest. I said, "We will take care of Him because we are used to all this and you are not, and I have no other person dearer to me than Raam. Besides, I know this forest very well, even Chaturanginee army cannot harm them."

But Lakshman said, "When Raam and Seetaa are sleeping on the ground, then I have no place to sleep. How can I sleep, how can I be happy. Whoever Raam is infallible even by all Devtaa and Asur, the same Raam is sleeping on the ground today. After lots of efforts, Dasharath got a son like Raam. While He is in the forest, Raajaa will not be able survive long. All palaces will be quiet because all queens must have been tired after crying for a long time. Maa Kaushalyaa and Maa Sumitraa may be alive, although I don't hope so. But my mother may have lived to see Shatrughn, but I am not sure about Kaushalyaa.

Raajaa Dasharath had a very acute desire that Raam should be appointed as king but because of not fulfilling his desire he should surely die, And whoever will perform his last rites his desire will be fulfilled. Will we be able to go back to Ayodhyaa even after the period of exile?" Hey Bharat, Lakshman talked like this whole night. In the morning both prepared their Jataa and I helped them to cross Gangaa."
