Sanjaya Tells About Earth-3

Dhritraashtra said - "O Sanjaya, Now you tell me the names of all the Varsh, of all the mountains and whoever live there." Sanjaya said - "Hey Raajan, On the south of Shwet and north of Nishadh is Romanak Varsh.  Here the people are beautiful and live always happily. Their life span is for 11,500 years. On the south of Nishadh is Hiranmaya Varsh where Hiranvatee River flows. Here lives the foremost bird Garud. Here the people are followers of Yaksh and they live for 12,500 years. The mountains of Shringaavat has three summits. One of these is made of jewels and gems and another one is also made of all kinds of jewels and has many mansions. There lives a lady named Sandili (read Gaalav Muni's story for the reference of this Braahman lady).

On the North of Shringvat, up to the sea, there is Airaavat Varsh. Because this jeweled mountain this Varsh is superior to all. There is no heat of Sun and people do not die there. Moon with stars is the only source of light. People living there smell like a lotus flower. They do not wink and do not eat. They have control on their Indriyaan. They are sinless and are all fallen from the regions of celestials. They live for 13,000 years.

On the North of the milky ocean Shree Hari lives in His gold vehicle. This vehicle has eight wheels and has numerous supernatural creatures on it. It has speed of mind and looks like a fire adorned with Jamboonad gold. In Him the Universe merges at the time of Pralaya (deluge) and emanates when He desires to create."

About Bhaarat Varsh

Hearing all this Dhritraashtra sank in the thoughts of his sons. With great difficulty he said - "O Soot Putra, Indeed it is the time of destruction. Nothing is eternal here, so it is Nar and Naarayan who have come here to destroy this. Now tell me about Bhaarat where this senseless force has been collected." Sanjaya said - "Listen O Dhritraashtra, Paandav are not greedy, it is Duryodhan and other kings who are greedy. I tell you now about the Bharat Vansh (family) on whose name this land is called Bhaarat Varsh, as I have heard about it. This land is very dear to Indra, Manu (the son of Vivaswat), Prithu, Vane, Yayaati, Ambareesh, Maandhaataa, Nahush, Muchukund, Shibi (the son of Usheenar - read about who was Usheenar here), Rishabh, Il etc.

Mahendra, Malaya, Sahya, Sooktimat, Rakshaamat, Vindhya and Paripatra - these are the seven Kalaa (which form the boundaries) mountains. Besides, there are thousand of mountains which are unknown. Still there are many other smaller mountains where live barbarous tribes, Mlechchh, Arya and many races mixed of two elements. Now you listen to the names of provinces. They are Kuru-Paanchaal, Shaalv, Madra, Jaangal, Shoorsen, Kaling, Vodh, Mal, Matsya, Sauvalya and Kuntal, Kaashee-Koshalya, Chedi, Karoosh, Bhoj, Sindhu, Pulandak, Uttam, Dasarn, Mekal, Utkal, Paanchaal, Kaushij, Nikarprishat, Dhurandhar, Sodh, Madrabhujing, Kaashee, Jathar, Kukur, Kuntee, Avantee, Gomant, Mandak, Shand, Vidarbh, Roopvaahik, Ashwak, Panshuraashtra, Gopraashtra, Kaaritya, Adhirjaya, Kuldyaas, Mallraashtra, Keral, Varatrasya, Apvaah, Chakra, Vakratap, Shak, Videh, Magadh, Swaksh, Malaya, Vijaya, Ang, Bang, Kaling, Yakrilloman, Mall, Suddell, Pranrad, Mahik, Shashik, Baahleek, Vatadhan, Abhiras, Kaljoshak, Aparant, Parant, Pahnabhaas, Charm-mandal, Atvishikhar, Mahaabhoot, Upvritt, Anupvritt, Sauraashtra, Kaikaya, Koot, Mahaya, Kaksh, Samudra-nishkoot, and Andhra.

There are some other kingdoms in south too - Dravid, Keral, Praachya, Mushik, Van-vashik, Karnaatak, Mahishak, Jhilikaa, Kuntal, Saunrid, Nalkaanan, Kaankutak, Chole, Maalvayak, Samang, Kanak, Kukkur, Angaar-maarishaa, Karak, Angaar, Maarishaa, Dhwajinee, Utsav, Sanket, Trigart, Shalvsen, Bak, Kokarak, Pashtree, Lam-vegaavasaa, Vindhya-choolak, Pulind, Valkal, Maalavaa, Vallabh, Kulind, Kaalavaa, Kuntauk, Karaathaa, Mrishak, Tanval, Saniyaa, Aleedaas, Pasheevat, Tanaya, Sulanya, Tangan etc.

Thus this Prithvi is like ever-yielding cow which yield three types of fruits - virtue, pleasure, and profit. The kings who are virtuous and have made profit have become greedy of earth. They can give their lives for earth. Their ambitions have gone beyond. That is why Kaurav and Paandav are fighting for the possession of earth by all policies - Saam (negotiation), Daam (wealth), Dand (punishment, here the punishment is battle) , or Bhed (disunion).

Dhritraashtra said - "Tell me O Sanjaya, about the period of life, the strength, the good and bad things, the future, past and present of Bharat Varsh, Himvant Varsh and Hari Varsh." Sanjaya said - "Four Yug are set for Bhaarat Varsh - Sat, Tretaa, Dwaapar and Kali. 4,000 years are set for the life span in Sat Yug, 3,000 years in Tretaa Yug, 2,000 years in Dwaapar Yug, but no fixed limit is set for life in Kali Yug. People can die in womb also, or as soon as they are born. In Sat Yug men can have hundreds or thousands of children with great power and wisdom. Great Muni are born in this age. They are great Yogee and Tapaswee. Kshatriya also are brave, handsome, and highly skilled in battle. In Tretaa Yug all the Kshatriya were ruling the country from sea to sea. They were not dependent to anyone. In Dwaapar Yug all four Varn have to exert and they become desirous to conquer others. In Kali Yug people have little energy.

Haimaavat Varsh is superior to Bhaarat Varsh, and Hari Varsh is superior to Haimaavat in all respects."
