Shani Dev is the fiercest Devtaa among the all Hindu gods. He is the son of Soorya Dev. Bhavishya Puraan, 1/15, says hat Soorya had two sons from his wife Sangyaa - Shrutshravaa and Shrutkarmaa. Shrutshravaa became the Saavarni Manu for the next Manvantar (the 8th Manvantar) and Shrutkarmaa is known as Shanishchar. He is equal to Yam Raaj - his half brother - son of Soorya and Shanaishchar's mother's shadow woman Chaayaa's son.
