6 - Dashrath's Plan (3)
Dashratha is sad Hearing Kekayee's Boons

The speech of Kakeyee was like a death sentence for the naive king,
It felt like a tremor was there in palace or calamity had it calling ring.
The king held his chest and prayed Kakeyee to take back her words,
"O Kakeyee! What have you asked is real pain, destruction onwards",
"The mothers, citizens, ministers, friends all will be in deep sorrow,
The festivities will be bleak, the shinning sun be darkened tomorrow".
My life will become unbearable; will have no desire to live any more,
What will happen to dear Sita, Koshlya; you are becoming an eyesore".
"I will manage with the ministers to grant kingship to dear Bharat here,
But exile to dear Ram, why so; I see no justice in your plan any where".
"Dear Ram is nice to every body, he loves brothers, Bharat and you,
Without Ram I will not live; this curse of citizens' will follow you".
"Please think again, take back your very words for dear Ram's exile,
I can cancel tomorrow's coronation and collectively we think a while".
The king Dashratha's face became pale; his throat was chocked, dry,
He was dizzying, had no clue, how to overcome pain, what else to try?
Kakeyee was listening to the king, was cruel, conniving with stone face,
"O king! Why are crying, I asked, what I wanted; Koshlya lost the race,
You thought that 'I will ask for land, jewelry'; want to be royal mother,
Either keep your words or give up the truthfulness, do nothing further".
"If you do not order Ram for exile than you will be defamed for ever,
I will commit suicide, my relatives will curse, be unhappy however".
King Dashratha was convinced that kakeyee had gone beyond control,
He said, "You please be quite, I know your stupidity will take big toll".
The night was much difficult for the king; he was lying restless on bed,
Was the dawn in Ayodhya; singers were on door; the East became red.
The attendants were singing, praying to the king 'King beautiful is day,
Today is big day, the coronation of Ram, you be joyous, as we all pray'.
The minister Sumantra came to request the king; inside the palace,
He saw the king was sad, pale faced, the king tied by mental mace.
"How are you, sir please tell me, how can I be your sincere help?"
"Please call dear Ram, it is an emergency, time did tore my scalp".
The minister went to Ram's palace and informed about king's call,
"Is father doing alright and why this emergency; please tell me all".
"Dear Ram! This is not known, I do not see the king in normal shape,
He is tired, restless in queen Kakeyee's palace, as if tied by a mace".
Sri Ram explained to Sita and hurriedly went to see his dear father,
Ram saw King Dashratha as an old tree bereft of leaves with mother.
"O dear father! Please tell me, why are you sad and with discomfort,
I will do as you say to please you, mother Kakeyee with my effort".
"Please be composed, calm and take out your worries, what is there?
You have four sons, family, friends, wealth and good ministers here".
"Dear Ram! Please do not take otherwise; you have been nice to all,
Kakeyee had kept two boons with me; now she cashed these in all".
"She was granted boons, in a ferocious war when she saved my life,
I was unconscious, she took control of chariot as an excellent wife".
"Now in one boon she has asked for dear Bharat the kingship, throne,
In second boon she has asked your exile in jungle, you will be gone".
"I have promised to you the kingdom of Ayodhya and the holy throne,
O son! I do not see a solution to my problem, how can you be a gone!"
"I love you deepest in my heart, it is very painful to be away from you,
Why should you suffer this way, there have been nothing done by you".
"You can stay in Ayodhya, in any condition I look my promise false,
I am taken as untruthful, as Kakeyee's second boon on my neck falls".
The king could not continue further, his throat got chocked with tears,
Kakeyee took control of the situation; she spoke as a magician smears.
"O Ram! Your father loves you extremely; he will never say you to go,
To keep father's promise, you should accept the exile, what I think so".
"You are follower of your father, you are virtuous; you are a good son,
I know you will keep the words of your father; do needful, please run".
Kakeyee's advice was self-fulfilling, it was understood fully by Ram,
He said politely, "O father! Why should you worry?" with his charm.
"I will do as explained to me, glad dear Bharat will have the throne,
I will be comfortable in jungle, dear mother! Don't worry I am gone".
