8 - Search for Sita
Ram Searches for Sita, In Shabari's Aashram

At the death, Mareech turned in to his human form and Ram returns,
On the way back Ram sees Laxman, immediately he finds concerns.
"Laxman! Why did you come here, Sita is not safe or living as I see,
It was Mareech in the form of golden deer, part of sinister plan was he".

Laxman was in tears, "Ram! Sita compelled me to come else she dies,
I had no choice; I did disobey you, this terrain is full of Raven's spies".
The brothers hurriedly returned home, looked, could not find Sita there,
Ram was lamenting, searched dear Sita in home's all nook corners here.

They came out in the woods and walked for searching dear Sita in far, 
On the way Jatayu was laying, bleeding; Ram saw Jatayu; it was in war.
Jatayu said, "Ram, Raven took Sita forcefully, I tried to save her here,
Raven cut my wings; he went to the South; I am dying please be near". 

Ram was patting Jatayu with love, "O Jatayu! You will be in heaven,
You did a noble deed, shedding life to save Sita from wicked Raven".
It was very sad that Jatayu died while Ram was holding it in his lap,
Ram performed the last rights of Jatayu the brothers faced the mishap.

The brothers were walking southward, rakshas Kabandh came to kill,
They managed with him, Kabandh died; some more blood did spill.
After death, Kabandh became divine and he said, "Thank you Ram,
The monkey king Sugreev will be your help to redeem Sita, no harm".

"Raven, Vishrava's son kept Sita captive in Lanka at his garden palace,
You will meet with Shabari, she will tell you about Sugreev's place".
After resting in night, brothers reached Pumpa reservoir's west beach,  
They saw the place of saint Shabari; it was very nice within the reach.

Shabari received Ram, Laxman, offered her respect by bowing to earth,
"Dear Ram! You are my master, friend, the God, life, home and hearth"
She offered sweet fruits, and juice to Ram and Laxman with reverence,
She provided details of Sugreev, Rishyamook hill, Matang's reference.
