11-Maagh Maas Vrat

Maagh Maas is the 11th month of the Hindu Lunar calendar year. The following Vrat, Snaan and festivals fall in this month.

People do Snaan (religious bath) the whole month in the morning, before sunrise and worship Bhagavaan. Who can afford to do this Snaan at a holy place or in a holy river, it is much better.

Many people keep fast also for the whole month, taking food only once a day after sunset.

Maagh Krishn Chaturthee - Sakat Chauth
People observe this day, Sakat Chauth, a fast for Ganesh Jee to alleviate their all afflictions. Sometimes people observe this fast on every month Krishn Chaturthee.

Maagh Shukla Chaturthee - Shaantaa
Keep fast, worship Ganesh Jee and do his Hom. Donate salt, Gud (jaggery) and Gud Pooaa, vegetables,.
Women should worship their elders and feed them.

Maagh Shukla Panchamee - Vasant Panchamee
People worship  Saraswatee Jee on Vasant Panchamee, cook yellow sweet and savory rice and other yellow colored dishes. They wear yellow color clothes and exchange yellow mustard flowers with their relations and friends. Children's educations is also started this day only after worshipping Ganesh Jee and Saraswatee Jee.

Maagh Shukla Saptamee - Soorya Saptamee
On Maagh Shukla 7th. One should draw a 8-petal or 12-petal Kamal and worship Soorya on it. This Vrat takes away all sorrows of a person.
