1-4-16-About Queens |
In its simplest terms Queen Kaushalyaa got half of the sweets (Paayas) being the Empress (chief queen or Patt Mahishee, or Pat Raanee) of Raajaa Dasharath. Sumitraa got one-fourth in the first round and after a rethink by Dasharath, got another one-eighth portion. Kaikeyee got only a one-eighth quantity, as she was the third queen. Thus, Kaushalyaa gave birth to Raam, Sumitraa to Lakshman and Shatrughn, and Kaikeyee to Bharat. The quantity of the dessert does not make Raam all-powerful or Bharat and Shatrughn the least. Since the Absolute is indivisible into parts, the dessert that was divided is not to be taken as the Absolute Himself, but a kind of medium through which the incarnation was made possible.
