How did Hanumaan go to Lankaa?
When Hanumaan jumped over the sea in search of Seetaa, he went through Chaaran's path as Chaaran's path is very auspicious. Chaaran are those celestial beings that journey through their own auspicious paths.

There he burnt Lankaa, brought the news of Seetaa and Raavan's army and Lankaa.

When Raavan hit Amogh Power to Lakshman, Sushen asked Hanumaan to bring some herb from Mahodaya Parvat for Lakshman.

In Maanas, 6/11 Lakshman was hit by Veerghaatinee power by Meghnaad. Jaambvaan sent Hanumaan to Lankaa to call Sushen Vaidya and Sushen Vaidya asked Hanumaan to bring a  certain herb (Sanjeevanee)  from Himaalaya.
