Sarg 95-Raavan is Out in the Battlefield

Raavan heard all the Vilaap of Raakshas women. he got very furious and said in a low voice - "Tell Mahodar, Mahaapaarshwa, Viroopaaksh, that they should bring out all army." Raakshas who were sitting there quietly asked army to get ready. Raavan then laughed and said to those three chiefs - "Today I will send Raam and Lakshman to Yam Lok. Today I will take the revenge of killing of Khar, Kumbhkarn, Prahast, Indrajeet by killing Raam and Lakshman. Sky and Prithvi will not be seen because of being covered by my arrows. Today I will kill all Vaanar army-chiefs whose faces are like bloomed lotus flower. I will shoot 100 arrows at their mouths. Whose brothers are killed, whose sons are killed, today I will wipe their tears by killing enemy. Get my chariot ready soon, bring my bow and remaining Raakshas should follow me."

Mahaapaarshwa told army-chiefs to get army ready. All army-chiefs went to Raakshas houses and encouraged them to fight. In a little time many Raakshas gathered with their various kinds of weapons - sword, Pattish, Shool, Gadaa, Moosal, Hal, Powers, Mudgad, big strong sticks, various types of Chakra, Paraswagh, Bhindipaal, Shataghni etc. There were four army-chiefs 10,000 chariots, 30,000 elephants, 600 million (60 Crores) camels and donkeys and innumerable infantry soldiers.

Saarathee brought the chariot which had many kinds of weapons. It was adorned with many ornaments, tiny bells, gem-studded pillars, thousands of gold pitchers. Raakshas got surprised to see that beautiful chariot. It was driven by eight horses who were shining like many Soorya and Agni. Raavan climbed up that chariot quickly.

Many instruments started playing. Raakshas also shouted - "See the enemy of Devtaa, the thief who stole Seetaa is coming." Prithvi trembled with the echo of these words, Vaanar ran away hearing these words. Raavan came to his ministers with the desire of victory and they (Mahodar, Mahaapaarshwa, Viroopaaksh and Durdharsh) rode on their chariots happily making loud noises with the permission of Raavan. Thus Raavan started destroying Vaanar army. He cut their hands, broke their chests and heads. Pierced eyes. Whichever side Raavan went, Vaanar couldn't stand his arrows.

Sarg 96-Sugreev Kills Viroopaaksh

Battlefield was filled by Vaanar's dead bodies. Vaanar couldn't tolerate Raavan's arrows. they all ran shouting. Raavan continued to kill them, and very soon he arrived at Raam's place. Sugreev appointed Sushen to guard his running army, and he himself continued to fight with huge trees and rocks. He killed many Raakshas. Vaanar also showered rocks on Raakshas.

This shower cut Raakshas' heads. Seeing Raakshas running away Viroopaaksh consoled them saying - "I am coming." And he got down from his chariot, rode on an elephant, came towards Vaanar, and showered his arrows on Sugreev. Sugreev uprooted a tree and killed his elephant in front of his eyes. Viroopaakash immediately got down from the elephant and walked forward towards Sugreev with his sword and a shield made of Rishabh named wild animal's skin.

Tolerating the attack of Viroopaaksh, Sugreev picked a huge rock and threw it on him. Viroopaaksh went back a little and attacked Sugreev with his sword. Sugreev fell down. He got up and Viroopaaksh's head with his Mahaatal weapon. he fell down and bled to death. Both armies. Vaanar and Raakshas, got mad after the killing of Viroopaaksh by Sugreev.

Sarg 97-Sugreev Kills Mahodar

Many Vaanar and many Raakshas were killed in this fight, so both armies fell weak. Raavan got furious after his army and Viroopaaksh were killed. He said to Mahodar - "Mahodar, Now my victory is in your hand. Today you show your all bravery and kill as many Vaanar as you can. This is the time to repay your Swaamee for his favors." Mahodar entered the enemy's army and started killing them. He fought so fiercely that Vaanar started running here and there.

Sugreev came to rescue Vaanar. Mahodar was very brave and mighty. Both fought very fiercely. When Sugreev attacked with any tree or rock, Mahodar broke it with his arrows. Once Sugreev found a weapon Parigh lying on the ground, he picked it up and hit Mahodar's horses with it. Mahodar had to come down from the chariot and picked Gadaa to fight. He broke Sugreev's Parigh from his Gadaa's hits. Then Sugreev picked an iron Moosal which was decorated with gold. Both used their Gadaa and Moosal. Gadaa and Moosal crashed together and broke.

Now they started fighting with hands and fists. Both looked like Agni. When they got tired, they picked up swords from nearby and started fighting with them. Once Mahodar hit Sugreev's armor with his sword. When he was pulling it towards himself, Sugreev immediately cut his head. His body fell down and seeing this all Raakshas army ran away. they were all very sad. Raam, Sugreev and Vaanar were very happy.

Sarg 98-Angad Kills Mahaapaarshwa

Seeing Mahodar killed by Sugreev, Mahaapaarshwa's eyes got red with anger. He started killing Angad's army with his terrible sharp arrows. Their heads were falling on the ground as ripen fruits fall on the ground from trees. Many Vaanar fainted, many Vaanar ran away by the shower of his arrows. Seeing this Angad came forward. He picked up a Parigh and attacked Mahaapaarshwa. Mahaapaarshwa fell unconscious along with his Saarathee. In the mentime, Jaambvaan came carrying a huge rock and dropped it on his horses. Horses were instantly killed and the chariot was broken.

Mahaapaarshwa soon got up and shot arrows at Angad, three arrows at Jaambvaan's chest and many arrows at Gavaaksh. Then Angad picked Parigh and threw it on Mahaapaarshwa. It dropped his bow and arrow and came back to Angad. Mahaapaarshwa picked Paraswagh and used it on Angad, but Angad failed it. Then Angad his his chest with his fist. That fist ripped off Mahaapaarshwa's heart and he died. Seeing him falling down, his army scattered. Now Raavan was completely out of mind. Sound of joy by Vaanar made him angrier and angrier and now he himself came to battlefield to fight.
