Sarg 12-Raam in Agastya Muni's Aashram

Lakshman went to the Aashram with Seetaa and said to one of the disciples of Agastya Muni - "Dashrath's eldest son Raam has come to see Muni with His wife Seetaa. I am His servant younger brother. My name is Lakshman, if you ever heard. We have come here by the order of our father and want to have Darshan of Muni. So please inform him about our coming."

He went to Havanshaalaa (Sanctum of Fire) to inform him. Immediately Agastya Muni said - "This is very happy news. He has come here after a long time. I was waiting for Him. You bring them with respect. In fact you should have brought them with you." The disciple went to bring them. He asked Lakshman - "Who is Raam who wants to see Muni?" Lakshman showed him Raam by pointing towards Him. Then he took them respectfully.

There they saw deer sitting quietly. They saw the Sanctums for Brahmaa, Agni, Vishnu, Indra, Vaivaswat (Soorya), Somdev (Chandramaa), Bhagadev (one among 12 Suns - Dwaadash Aaditya), Kuber, Dhaataa and Vidhaataa (deities created by Brahmaa to help Swaayambhoo Manu), Vaayu, Varun, Gaayatree, Vasu (eight of them), Naag Raaj Aadi Shesh, Garud (the half brother of Aadi Shesh), Kaartikeya and Dharm Raaj (the presiding deity of virtue, vice, time; in-charge of Narak - hell) also; and then saw Muni coming to them. (see also Sanctums)

Seeing Muni coming to them, Raam said to Lakshman - "See Lakshman, Muni is coming. I know very well about his kindness. This Muni is full of Tapasyaa." Raam greeted Muni and touched his feet. Muni welcomed all three in his Aashram with great devotion and offered them food and water.

After offering Aahuti to Agni, Muni sat first himself then asked Raam to sit and said - "Who does not entertain his guest, he eats his own flesh in Parlok. You are our special guest that is why you are worthy of worship." Then Muni worshipped Raam with fruits and flowers. He said to Raam - "I have this golden gem-studded bow of Vishnu. This was built by Vishwakarmaa. It is full of fire-like arrows given by Brahmaa. And these are two quivers which are always replenished with arrows given by Indra to me. And this is a gold-handled sword. Many Raakshas have been killed with this bow to bring peace among celestial dwellers in the past.  To have victory, you accept this bow, quivers, arrows and sword in the same way as, at one time, Indra accepted Vajra." Thus Agastya Muni handed over all things to Raam and said.

Sarg 13-Raam Goes to Panchvatee

"Hey Raam, I am very pleased with you as you came to greet me at my Aashram with Lakshman and Seetaa. I am very pleased with Lakshman also. Jaanakee seems tired of walking in forest, She wants to take rest. Seetaa has never seen such troubles. She just came with you because of your love. Hey Raam, You do the same that pleases Seetaa. It is women's nature since the creation that they live with their husbands in comfort but leave them in their bad times. But Seetaa is not like this, that is why She is the highest woman in Pativrataa women, as Arundhatee is regarded in Devtaa community."

Raam said - "I am blessed that I heard the words of admiration from you about my brother and wife. You please tell me such a place where I can get water, fruits and flowers plentiful, so that I can stay there with my brother and wife for some time."

Agastya Muni thought for a while and said to Raam - "There is a place Panchvatee which is two Yojan (8 Krosh) from here. You may stay there comfortably, since there are many kinds of fruits, flowers and roots available plentiful and water too. Thus you may comply with your father's orders also. Seetaa will also enjoy there. I know all about your life because of my Tap and love of Dasharath. Although I would like you to stay with me in this Tapovan but I know your purpose therefore I am telling you to go to Panchvatee.

It is not very far. It is near River Godaavaree and Maithilee (Seetaa) will certainly like it. And when you will live there the Tapaswee living there will also be protected. You see this Mahuaa (a kind of tree and a kind of liquor made from its sap) Van? Go to north of this, then you will see a banyan tree also. Nearby it is a mountain and in the foothills of that mountain is Panchvatee."

And Raam started towards Panchvatee after bidding farewell to Agastya Muni.
