Sarg 105-Bharat Talks to Raam

The whole night passed for Bharat thinking how to take Raam back to Ayodhyaa. As morning broke, they went to Mandaakinee for their daily chores. After coming from there, Bharat sat silently near Raam. After some time he spoke softly - "Raajaa Dasharath gave this kingdom to my mother Kaikeyee and she gave it to me. Now I give it to you because I am your servant. Hey Raam, Nobody else, except you, can take care of such a huge kingdom. Because as crow cannot copy swan, and a donkey cannot be a horse, in the same way I am not like you.

Who live independently, only those people's lives are the best. Who are dependent on others, they don't get happiness. If somebody plants a tree, the tree grows, but if it does not give fruits at the time of blossoming, then the planter does not feel happy, because his wish is not fulfilled. You have the power of taking care of such a huge kingdom. We all want to see you sitting on the throne of Ayodhyaa." All supported Bharat's request.

Raam said - " Nothing depends on human being's wish. It is only a support. He dances only on destiny's tune. Hey Bharat, Whatever is mortal (non-eternal), one day it will be finished; whatever goes high, its downfall is certain; whatever has life, its end is death. That is why human being is always scared of death. As big palaces turn into ruins after being old, in the same way this human body is also destroyed; as the passed night never comes back [it is also never revived], Gangaa, Yamunaa and all other rivers only join sea but never come back; in the same way after time passes, life also ends. Then why do you worry for others? That is why it is justified to worry about oneself only.

Everybody's age is decreasing and whatever exists, death is always with it. Hey Bharat, Everyday human being feels happy in the morning, but he does not know that his Kaal (time of death) is coming nearer. Seasons change at time to time, but with this change human being does not know this that his life span is also decreasing. As wood floating in the sea sometimes come together and then get separated, the same situation is with the family, that all come together at the time of sin and cry for their family members but after some time they get separated again.

No human being can break the rule of life and death in this world. Even the people who are sad for the dead cannot break it. On whichever way our relatives have gone, we will also go the same way. So there is no use to be sad for it. Therefore a man should follow Dharm for his happiness. Our father was a pious Raajaa, to become sad for such a soul is not proper. Our father has left his old body, and has got some new body, because of which he is enjoying Brahm Lok. Therefore, Hey Bharat, gather courage, leave sadness and Moh (intense love) and rule Ayodhyaa, because that is the order of your late father. And I will also obey my father's orders." Raam got silent after replying thus to Bharat.

Sarg 106-Raam Talks to Bharat

Bharat said - "Hey Raam, Who is that man who is like you in this world? Neither any sorrow or any pain can make you sad, nor any happiness can make you happy, still you ask everything from old people (elders). As death has its own place, life also has its own place in this world. Where there is a lack, there is an excess too. Who know this principle, they never get sad. Who know about all elements they never get sad in spite of being in a sorrowful situation.

Hey Raam, The qualitative men who know about life and death, don't have to be sad like other ignorant people. Whatever wrong my mother has done because of my not living in Ayodhyaa, please pardon me for that. I am unable to punish this wicked woman, because I am tied with Dharm. I cannot take such a dirty action being a son of a pious king.

When a man gets old, his wisdom also goes away, Shruti support this. Raajaa has proved this by doing this meaningless act. And whatever other decision Raajaa took with the support of Kaikeyee, please make changes in them. The same son is good who improves on father's mistakes. Therefore you should not support father's sinful actions, because you are a good son.

Whatever actions father has taken, they are not according to Dharm. Only you can take care of all of us. Living in forest and Kshatriya Dharm, wearing Jataa and ruling the kingdom, they are two different things. You should not follow such opposite things. Your main duty is to get Raajya Abhishek done and rule the kingdom.

Who will be such a Kshatriya who follows other's Dharm instead of his own. And if you want to follow your own Dharm with troubles, then you follow all the four Aashram (of life). Hey Raam, Among the four Aashram, Grihasth Aashram has been regarded the best and most important, then why are you leaving this Aashram? I am your younger brother in Gyaan as well as in position, then how can I rule this kingdom? I cannot live without you. Please rule this kingdom according to Dharm.

Guru Vashishth and Braahman will perform your Raaj Tilak, then you come to Ayodhyaa with us and there you teach me. Clear this black spot from my mother's and my faces and thus clear the sin committed by our father too. If you will not heed to our request then I will also go to forest with you."

Thus Bharat tried to please Raam, but Raam didn't agree to go back to Ayodhyaa. All were very happy to see Raam's patience. Braahman, ministers, mothers praised Bharat and blessing Raam requested Him to come to Ayodhyaa.

Sarg 107-Raam Talks to Bharat

Raam said again - "Hey Kaikeyee-Putra, Whatever you have said is true, but when Raajaa married your mother, he promised to your maternal grandfather (Naanaa) that "You daughter's son will be the heir of my kingdom". Besides, during Dev-Asur Sangraam (war), Raajaa Dasharath gave two Var to your mother, so reminding him about those two Var, your mother asked him for two Var - first was the throne for you and second was the 14 years of exile for me. Raajaa fulfilled her wishes because he had already promised for them.

He ordered me to go to forest, so I came to forest along with Lakshman and Seetaa. I do not feel anything here - sadness, Moh, heat, cold, in the forest. In the same way, you should also get your Raaj Tilak done. To please mother is an intelligent Dharm. At one time, at the time of doing Yagya, I said -"Who protects his Pitar (ancestors) he is worthy to be calling a good son." Therefore, Hey Bharat, protect Dev-like father in Parlok. Return to Ayodhyaa along with Shatrughn and public and I am going to Dandak Van.

You be the king of Ayodhyaa and I will be the king of this forest. Therefore you go back to Ayodhyaa happily. Shatrughn will serve you and her I have Lakshman with me. You enjoy under the royal umbrella, and I will enjoy the shades of trees.
