Brahmaand

Universe. This whole Universe is called Brahmaand. It is believed in Vedaant, that there are seven covers of this Brahmaand - they are like this:
(1) Ten times of Prithvi is water
(2) Ten times of water is fire
(3) Ten times of fire is air
(4) Ten times of air is Aakaash (sky, ether or Antariksh)
(5) Ten times of Aakaash is Ahankaar
(6) Ten times of Ahankaar is Mahat-Tattwa
(7) Ten times of Mahat-Tattwa is Mool Prakriti
And all this is in Bhagavaan's one foot. It is all in His 10-finger place. This shows the hugeness of Bhagavaan. This is called 10-finger Nyaaya.
[ Bhaagvat Puraan, 2/2]

This Brahmaand is surrounded by "And Kataah" like the seed of Kaithe.
This And (egg) is surrounded by water which is its 10 times.
Water is surrounded by Fire which is also 10 times of Water.
Fire is surrounded by Air which is 10 time of Fire,
Air is surrounded by Ether which is 10 times of Air.
Ether is surrounded by Taamas (Ahankaar), 10 times of Ether
Taamas is surrounded by Mahat Tattwa, 10 times of Taamas
Mahat Tattwa is surrounded by Pradhaan which is limitless
[Vishnu Puraan]

Vishnu Puraan has defined Prithvi - "As far as the light of the Sun and the Moon goes, that area with seas, rivers, and mountains is called Prithvi, the same is Bhoo Lok."

When you look at Prithvi from Chandramaa, it looks like a blue and white gem - gem-like. It contains 71% water, 5 oceans - Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Arctic and Antarctic.

Sun's diameter is 109 times of the Earth, and it is 330,000 times lighter than the Sun; while Moon is 1/4th in the size and 1/81 in the weight.

On the Equator, the speed of rotation is more than at the poles. Because of this every moving object seems to move to right in Northern part of the Earth and to left in the Southern Hemisphere. Because of its centrifugal force every object becomes lighter.

The more the distance the longer is the year on the planet.
Mercury is the nearest planet to the Sun. Its year is of 88 days.
Venus' year is of 225 days
Earth's year is of 365 days
On Mars the year is of 680 days, and
On Pluto, which is the farthest planet, the year is of 249 years to revolve around the Sun.

Earth has three speeds -
Revolution - circling around the Sun (365 days 5 hous 48 minutes 46 seconds), speed is 66,000 miles per hour
Rotation - resulting on its own axis. On Equator, its speed is 1,038 miles per hour in 23 hours 56 minutes 40 seconds. This speed makes day and night.
It revolves around Galaxy too. This speed is 43,000 miles per hour

Why Do We See Polar Star Only in North?
Because the axis on which the Earth rotates is in North and the star is situated in the straight line of this axis

As the top rotates on axis and its axis makes a cone while rotating, in the same way Earth axis also does. This also completes one round 25,800 years. It means that Polar Star will not always be in North. About 5,000 years ago people should have been seeing Thubain Star as the static Star and Polar Star as the Morning Star. In the same way in the future, after 12,000 years, this Polar Star will not be static, it will be a Vega Star and not the Polar Star.

Lunar Eclipse is always on a Full Moon day, because this day its position is behind the earth
Earth, in its early days, used to take only 4 hours to rotate on its axis. Some mathematicians believe that it will become slower and slower until the day will become 50 times greater.
Physicists and chemists say that 1 kg Uranium is converted into 13 gms of Seesaa and 2 gms Helium in 1,000,000,000 (one billion) years. With this speed the total Uranium will be converted into Seesaa and Helium in 1,000,000,000,000 (one trillion) years. So there will be only Seesaa and on the earth and helium in the atmosphere after one trillion years.

Do you know which is the smallest continent on the Earth? Australia? No. Green Land? No.
It is Europe - 10,543.000 km square, 6,400 km North to South and 4,800 km East to West.
And the largest Continent?
It is Asia - 44,900,000 km square, 8,700 North to South and 9,700 East to West. Population 2,600 million.

Africa is the dark continent because it was discovered properly, before 1900. Its area is 30,300,000 km square. 8,000 km North to South and 7,600 km East to West.

South America is difficult even today. Its some parts are not yet approachable area 17,540,000 km square. 7640 km North to South and 5,150 km East to West.

Greenland is an island and its area is 2,000,000 km square, out of which 1.87 million km square is covered with snow.

What is the meaning of AM and PM?
To measure time a ,line has been drawn through Greenwich (England) which is 0 longitude. This is called prime Meridian towards East of the line up to 180 degree is 12 hours day and towards West up to 180 degree 12 hours night. Thus after crossing this International Date Line (between Alaska and Russia) the date is changed.

North Pole is toward the Sun for 6 months so there is always sunlight. The length of the daylight increases towards Equator. 21st June is the longest day and 22 December is the shortest day. In Southern hemisphere it is reverse.
