Tidbits About MBH-3

How to see DLI Bangalore?

Procedure is:

(1) You see links panel in MBH Study Group where I have given 4 URLs of 4 branches of DLI save them somewhere

(2) Give URL to browser and it will fetch DLI server's main page = bangalore DLI server is the best and quick plus has a host of books of our interest.

(3) Search for the desired book - you will be taken to a big list; click for any book, you will get another screen about some data about that book

(4) Click on the first "click here"; second "click here" does not work at all; book's first page will be opened

(5) Then at the bottom of opening page of that book, you will be advised to install their tiff viewer - altrnatiff - some professorial invention; click that link, get alternatiff, and install that alternatiff, along with its ocx on your system; this alternatiff installs itself in IE browser, but patience is required. Close the browser to let settle alternatiff.

(6) Then, search, get that book's page, navigate to other succeding pages as navigation panel is give at bottom of each page; this the first time ordeal, later no problem. This is more like searching for the life-principle of a Maantrik on a distant island. Later, every thing will be easy as we get addicted to opening/closing of pages. If anything more is required give a mail.    desirajuhrao@yahoo.com

For anyone downloading books from DLI .. In case you don't know about this ...there is a free software using which all the pages could be batch-downloaded.. so if we set up the software and leave it for say couple of hours (or overnight) all the pages will be downloaded and ready to read on your hard-disk. Below are the details for the same.

To download all 780 pages in an automated way, you may follow the instructions given here:
http://hpnadig.net/blog/index.php/archives/2007/02/22/download-all-that-you-can

(I have tried out the recommendation using "Flashget" and it works. You can download Flashget for free.)
Note that the relevant URL for you to enter in Flashget is
http://www.new.dli.ernet.in/data/upload/0049/238/PTIFF/00000001.tif

You need to change it to
http://www.new.dli.ernet.in/data/upload/0049/238/PTIFF/00000(*).tif   in batch download mode and enter 1 to 780 as the page numbers.
