Chandragupta Maurya 67-69Episode 67
Chandragupt was coming that he saw many people crying and some dead. Purush Datt
who was teaching there, was killed by Nand's people. Chandragupt got very angry
hearing this and
proceeded to fight with Nand. Chaanakya said to Badar Bhatt - "Don't stop
him. As a fast blowing wind, fast
flowing water of a river and the lava of volcano cannot be stopped Chandrgupt is
also going to fight with Nand. But he will come back. You perform the last rites
of everybody and stay back with Shashaank."
Chandragupt came in the court of
Nand and said - "You were looking for me, I am here." Nand said -
"If you want that I should not kill any more innocent people, you should
surrender to me,." "I know that even after my surrendering, you
will kill the people, so I will not surrender to you." Then he challenged Nand to fight. Nand ordered to arrest Chandragupt, Chandragupt ran away from there.
Nand felt insulted and strengthened his security system. Amaatya ordered to arrest
Chaanakya and Chandragupt, or to give him information about them. He told that
they must not go out of the city.
Chaanakya and Chandragupt Escape
Chaanakya said - "Now we should
go out of the city soon." "But there is no other way to go out except
the main gate of the city." "Even the biggest and toughest jail has some
kind of exit." At the same time Birajoo came there and proposed to help them
in this regard. Chandragupt did not want to trust him as he had already deceived
him once, but Birajoo told that - "last time the Amaatya did not fulfill
his promise to give me money so now I am not with him now, so be assured, I
will help you." Chaanakya suggested Chandragupt that he should forgive him.
Chaanakya said - "Forgiveness gives the strength, so forgive him." Hearing
this Chandragupt forgave him, and Birajoo hid them in the place where Nand's guards'
weapons were kept. When the Army General came there looking for Chaanakya and Chandragupt,
Birajoo said - "I have seen them, they have gone out, let us go and arrest
them." So both Birajoo and Army General took a cart and set to go out of the
city to arrest them. Birajoo had hidden Chaanakya and Chandragupt in the cart in
a box. When Birajoo and the Army General were taking Chaanakya and Chandragupt out
of the city, the guards stopped their cart to go out for checking it.
Episode 68
So the chief guard of the gate checked the cart himself. There was a box in the
cart in which Chaanakya and Chandragupt were hiding. As he wanted to open that
box, the Army General said - "You are making us late, they have gone out of the
city and we have to arrest them soon. Then he promised him to give him half of
the gold (which he was going to get after handing over Chaanakya and Chandragupt
to Amaatya), and thus they went out of the city. In the meantime Amaatya also
came there and asked the Gate Guard who had gone out. he told him that the Army
general Mahaabalee has gone out, because he got the information of some traitor.
After reaching some distance from the city, Army General stopped the cart and
looked for Chaanakya and Chandragupt in the vicinity but he did not find them
there. They had escaped and hid in the forest. Army General got very angry and
he killed Birajoo.
Chitraroopaa, Muraa, Mrignayanee,
Purush Datt and Birajoo etc several names who sacrificed their lives to fulfill
the dream of Chaanaky of a United Bhaarat are unwritten in history.
Preparation for War
Chaanakya asked Chandragupt - "How will you win Nand?" "I
will kill him directly." "No Chandragupt. One has to make preparations for
war. Now remains only my wisdom and your courage, and one cannot win the war with them.
So first we should gather the resources to fight. For it we should have wealth, plans
and tactics. So build your army with this challenge." They entered the Vindhya
Mountain forest. They roamed around for two days but they did not see any human being
there. Chaanakya said - "Here live Akhanavee people" "But I don't
see anybody here around. Where are we going?" "In fact we are running
away from Magadh at a place where we can be safe from them, and we will be safe here
from them.
Amaatya informed Nand that Chaanakya and
Chandragupt had run away. At this Nand wanted to kill him that a man informed him that
Chaanakya and Chandragupt had been found. Hearing this Amaatya smiled because it all
happened because of his planning. Nand stopped his sword and got very happy. The man
told that they were seen entering Vindhya Mountain forest. Amaatya said - "Our
soldiers are posted on all posts but we have not got a clue of them. It shows that
they are somewhere in the center of the forest. There the forest dwellers are very
difficult people. They kill any other human being than themselves immediately. They
do not regard anybody their king, even they do not regard Magadh as their ruling kingdom.
Those Akhanavee can help us in arresting them. We will offer them such a thing that they
will not be able to disobey us."
Episode 69
Chandragupt asked - "But how we will find them in this dense and vast forest?"
Chaanakya said - "Do not worry, they do not accept any stranger."
At the same time they heard some strange noises. Chandragupt gets frightened.
Akhanavee
catch them and push them in a large pit. Akhanavee surrounded them at the top of the pit
and one of them shot an arrow at Chandragupt. Chaanakya used a technique, he said to them -
"Go and tell your Chief that his friend Chaanakya has come to see him. If he knew that
you have misbehaved with his friend like this, he will punish you." Chaanakya did not
know the Chief, he just told this lie so that he would call him to know "who was
Chaanakya?" So they went to their Chief and delivered Chaanakya's message to him.
Obviously the Chief did not know him, but still for curiosity sake he ordered them to bring
him to him.
Amaatya sent Akhanavee people a proposal that
if they hand over Chaanakya and Chandragupt to Magadh King, they will give them lots of gold.
Akhanavee Chief got very happy to receive this proposal and he returned the messenger with the
message that "Keep our gold ready." Nand had called Bhadrasaal (the Saamant of Sahaal
state) to deal with this matter. He said - "I will bring them to you."
When Chaanakya and Chandragupt were taken to
Akhanavee Chief, the Chief asked them - "How are you my friend?"
Chaanakya said - "I am Chanak's son Chaanakya. I am the Aachaarya at Takshshilaa
University." He took out an apple and giving it to him said - "This is my
gift to you with love. Now I am your friend. I want to take the gold of Magadh."
"But who told you that I have that gold?"
Chaanakya said - "I know that, because only you can catch us, because you are my
friend. Nand hates you because in spite of living in their territory, you are not his
friend. And I know that he will mistreat you as soon as you have handed us over to him."
"You must have brought some good proposal from Magadh."
Chaanakya said - "Yes, I have, but
not the gold. We are organizing an army against Magadh and we want you join it."
"But we want gold and we can do anything for it."
:So do you need only gold? If I give you all the gold of Paataliputra, will you kill your mother?"
"Who?"
"Your mother."
"I will kill you, O Braahman."
"What happened? You said you could kill anybody for gold."
"Are you making a fool of me?"
Chaanakya said - "I am a teacher,
I do not do that. Your ancestors were farming here, but Nand killed them. Don't
you want to protect your motherland? You know that what I am telling you is more
than a gold."
Chief said - "Now I know why Nand
wants to kill you. You have won our hearts by your words. Now I challenge you for a Vaayu
fight. Do you know why is it done?"
"Yes, I know it. to become the leadership of the tribe. We want the leadership
of your tribe. You also got the leadership of your tribe in the same way."
"You know that also that whoever has lost, his life is in the control of the
winner?" "Yes."
