Later one son Vibheeshan and one girl Shoorpanakhaa were also born to Kaikasee. Vibheeshan was different from his two elder brothers from his childhood. he never participated in their atrocities on the world. They used to trouble all saints, Rishi and Muni, so they all complained to Muni Vishravaa. Muni Vishravaa asked Kaikasee to leave his Aashram and go to her father's house as all will be able to live there comfortably. So Kaikasee went back to her father's house with all her children. Her father welcomed them happily.

Tap of Raavan and Kumbhkarn
One day they saw Kuber going somewhere in his Pushpak Vimaan. Raavan asked him who was he who was going in that Vimaan. Kaikasee told them that he was neither a Devtaa nor a Gandharv but their step brother Kuber. Sumaalee told them that now a days Kuber was living in golden Lankaa on Tikoot Parvat in which they were living before. Fearing Vishnu they had to leave it, and now Kuber was living in it. That is why Lankaa was his, not Kuber's.

Sumaalee then said - "Before, we were three brothers - Maalyavaan, Maalee and myself. We jointly defeated Devtaa many times. We then asked Vishwakarmaa to build a golden Lankaa and we used to live in that city. Once Vishnu attacked Lankaa riding on His Garud and used His Sudarshan Chakra and Lankaa went out of our hands. After that I could not regain Lankaa." Raavan promised to bring Lankaa back to Raakshas. Sumaalee advised them to do tap and get boons to become invincible in the world. And they all went to do Tap.

On the other side Indra went to to Saraswatee Jee and requested her - "Hey Devee, When you live in somebody's heart, he becomes a great Gyaanee; when you sit on somebody's tongue, his all words come true. Raavan and Kumbhkarn are doing intense Tapasyaa, and this will make Brahmaa to give them desired boon. So we are requesting you to sit on Kumbhkarn's tongue so that he cannot ask that boon which he wants to ask from you, rather he should ask some opposite boon." "So be it."

Pleased with their Tapasyaa Brahmaa Jee appeared before them and asked them to as for any boon. Raavan said - "I want immortality." Brahmaa Jee said - "Raavan, You are a great Gyaanee, you know that nothing in this world is immortal, so ask the boon within your limits." Raavan said - "Then grant me this boon that I should not be killed by anyone - Garud, Yaksh, Daitya, Daanav, Naag, Raakshas, or Devtaa." When Kumbhkarn was asked to ask for the boon he asked - "I should be all mighty, I should be able to eat a lot and digest it and sleep for 6 months and wake up to eat only for one day." Brahmaa Jee immediately said - "So be it." and got disappeared.

When Raavan heard this he got very angry at Kumbhkarn because he camw with the intention that he would ask the 6 months waking up and 1 day sleep, but here he asked opposite, but now nothing could be done, so he had to be satisfied with that boon. Now they both started troubling Rishi Muni again. They came to Lankaa also to Kuber, defeated him and took Lankaa and his Pushpak Vimaan and exiled him from Lankaa. Now Raavan was the king of Lankaa. He proceeded towards Tri-Lok victory leaving Kumbhkarn and Vibheeshan in the charge of Lankaa.

Victory Tour of Raavan: Vaidyanaath Jyotirling
Raavan won Dev Lok and proceeded towards Kailaash. As he came on Kailaash, Nandee saw him wandering around. He caught him and took him to Shiv Jee. He wanted to fight with Shiv, so he fought. He got defeated so he threatened him to throw Kailaash. He went down and tried to uproot it. The whole Kailaash shook. Shiv Jee just pushed it down with his left foot. This made Raavan's hands crush. Then he prayed Shiv with Shiv Taandav Stotra. Shiv Jee got very pleased with his prayer and asked him to ask for boon. Raavan said - "I should get your Darshan in all troubled situations, I should always get guidance from you and you live in my Lankaa with honor." Shiv Jee said - "So be it. I give you my symbol (Ling). Till you will follow Dharm path, my blessings will always be with you." He gave him his Ling and instructed to establish it in Lankaa, and warned him to carry it in his hands all the way to Lankaa, never to keep it down. Raavan said - "So be it." and went away.

Devtaa saw this and got worried because if Raavan had established that Ling in his Lankaa, they will be weaker and then will never be able to win him, so they planned to stop him doing this. Indra along with other Devtaa went to Vishnu but Vishnu clearly refused ton help him saying that he could not interfere in Shiv's boon, but Ganesh Jee could help them. You should invoke him. So they invoked him  and told him their problem. On the way to Lankaa Raavan got thirsty, so he looked for water. He saw a river at some distance. Carrying that Shiv Ling in his hands he drank the water from that river and quenched his thirst. After quenching his thirst he resumed his journey, but soon he felt the call of nature and he looked for tha place and opportunity. he could not keep the Shiv ling down on the ground.

12-Vaidyanaath Jyotirling

The then Ganesh Jee appeared in a cowherd form. Raavan somehow handed over the Shiv Ling to that cowherd and went to answer the nature's call. The cowherd agreed to hold that Shiv Ling on the condition that "I will count up to three, then I will keep the Shiv Ling down." "OK" Raavan had no option accept to agree, so he agreed and went to answer the call. But in the meantime the cowherd counted up to three and kept the Shiv Ling down and it stuck down to the ground. Thus Ganseh Jee helped Devtaa.

Raavan told everything to his Naanaa Sumaalee that he had already had Shiv Ling but he had to give it to a cowherd and then he kept it on the ground and I could not lift it up. Now you tell me the method of bringing it here in Lankaa." Sumaalee said - "Well, Only Shukraachaarya Jee can tell you the way." So he invoked Shukraachaarya Jee. When he appeared Raavan told him his problem and told that he must have Shiv's grace on Lankaa. Shukraachaarya Jee then suggested that he should build a temple of Shiv and do Panchaaksharee Mantra Jaap and Yagya with devotion. So he did and expected Shiv to appear before him, but he did not appear before him. He declared that if he did not appear before him he would offer his heads as Yagya Aahuti. And he started offering his heads in the Yagya fire. When he was gong to offer his last head Shiv Jee appeared before him and pleased with his Bhakti asked him to ask for boon. Raavan asked him to grant him the boon - "I have build a temple for you, I wish that you live here in this temple and whenever I wish I can see you in person." Shiv Jee bestowed him the boon and gave him the Chandrahaas named sword to him.

Raavan is Defeated by Baali
Raavan decided to re-win the whole universe again. His Naanaa suggested him that he had heard that Kishkindhaa Nagaree's king Baali was very brave and mighty, so he should win him, so he proceeded to win Baali. he came to Kishkindhaa and Baali's gatekeepers told him that Baali was doing Sandhyaa Vandan on the sea shore. he went to sea shore and challenged him for a fight. Baali asked him to wait till he finished his Sandhyaa Vandan but he did not listen to, so Baali tied him in his tail and went wherever he went to do his Sandhyaa Vandan. Raavan got tired and got defeated from Baali. Baali sent him back to Lankaa.

Naarad Moh
Naarad Jee meets Shani Dev on the way and tells him, "O Shani Dev, So you are the one who made me to sin to curse my Bhagavaan by me only and aroused the feeling of Krodh. Shani said - "Hey Muni, If you don't mind, can I stay in your Raashi for some time?" Naarad said quickly - "No, No. I have not yet forgotten your old incident." Shani Dev intercepted - "I also often remember you, recollecting that old incident. I still remember that day when you said to me - "Shani Dev, I am the ardent devotee of Prabhu, what harm can you do to me staying in my Raashi? I know that all fear from you because of your crooked sight, but your crooked sight cannot affect me a bit." Shani Dev said - "But I have a boon that nobody can escape from my crooked sight. Do you want any proof for it?" "Yes" Naarad Jee still was still adamant and said - "Your crooked sight cannot affect me, I am going where your sight cannot affect me. I am going to do Tapasyaa." and Naarad Jee went to do Tapasyaa.

Indra got afraid of Naarad's Tapasyaa and on the advice of other Devtaa sent Kaam Dev to disturb his Tapasyaa. Kaam Dev tried his best but could not disturb his Tapasyaa. Brahm dev appeared before Naarad and said - "Putra, open your eyes. Your Tapasyaa is complete now. Kaam Dev was trying to disturb your Tapasyaa." "But why." Brahm dev said - "Because Indra Dev sent him to disturb your Tapasyaa." "But whyy." "Because Indra Dev thought that you wanted his Indra Lok." Naarad Jee said - "But Father, You know that I never wanted Indra Lok." "I know Putra. That is why I have to appear here for the welfare of the world." "But who is doing bad for he world? Me?" Brahmaa Jee said - "Putr, You will have to excuse Kaam and Rati, because of you will not forgive them they will go from here, and if the will not go from here how the creation will continue? So forgive them." Naarad Jee forgave them.

Naarad Jee continued to Brahm Dev - "Shiv Shankar is alone who has won Kaam Dev and now another one is me who have won Kaam Dev. It means I am equal to Shiv now." Brahmaa Jee explained him - "It is not good to compare yourself with Shiv. You are insulting him. You have become proud. You are taking yourself as Shiv? It is pride, leave it." Naarad was still proud - "But it is true." Naarad Jee was grateful to Shani who made Naarad Bhagavaan Shiv, and he went to Shiv to inform about his power - to win Kaam Dev.

When Naarad Jee told everything to Shiv, Shiv Jee admired him and made him sit with him as he was equal to Shiv. He advised him not to give this news to Vishnu because who knows who has how much jealousy in one's heart. If Vishnu had known that your place has been in Kailaash now, He might not be able to sleep on His Shesh Shayyaa. It might be possible that it is my doubt, but I have just told you my doubt." But Naarad Jee thought that he must tell this to Vishnu too. So he went to Vishnu and told this to Him too. Vishnu said - "So you have become now Shiv. You should have gone to Shiv." "I went there and he respected me a lot and made me sit with him. But you are you only." "How?" When I went there he told me not to come here. But I thought that I should inform you, so I came to you."

Vishnu thought that Naarad has become proud, his proud should be destroyed soon otherwise he himself will be destroyed. So He created a beautiful city just below Antariksh. Naarad Jee saw that city and entered it. There its King Sheelnidhi was preparing for his daughter's Swayamvar. Seeing Naarad Jee, he welcomed him and asked him about his daughter's future. Seeing her, Naarad Jee got attracted to her and thought that he himself should marry her. So he went to Shree Hari and asked for Hari Mukh. and Hari gave him Hari Mukh to him. He went to attend the Swayamvar of the princess. His face was of a monkey and all were laughing at him. At the same time Hari came there and the princess put her Jayamaalaa in His neck.
