Hiranyakashya's son Mandar fought for 1 million years with Indra.
But we have never heard that Hiranyakashyap had a son named Mandar - he had only 4 sons - Anuhlaad, Prahlaad, Sanhlaad, and Hlaad

Vishnu got the discus from Shiv after Shiv had killed a Daitya who was proud of his strength and lived in waters. He himself had created that Discus. Besides of its limitless energy nobody was able to look at it except Shiv, and that is why Shiv named it Sudarshan.
