1-Naarad-Yudhishthir Dialog and Story of Jaya and Vijaya

Pareekshit asked - "Hey Bhagavan, Bhagavaan does not discriminate anybody, then why did He kill Daitya in favor of Indra? Because He Himself is Kalyaan Swaroop, that is why He does not have to do anything with Devtaa and since He Himself is Nir-Gun (without any Gun or attribute) He is not the enemy of Daitya either. Kindly clear my confusion."

Shuk Dev Jee said - "In fact Bhagavaan is Nir-Gun, A-Janmaa (does not born), cannot be described and is beyond Prakriti, still He with His Maayaa performs all kinds of actions. Sat, Raj and Tam are the Gun of Prakriti, not of Paramaatma. And these three Gun are not always present in the same quantity in Prakriti. Bhagavaan takes all Gun at time to time. When Sat Gun is more, He takes care of Devtaa and Rishi; when Rajo Gun is more, He takes care of Daitya; and when Tamo Gun is more, He takes care of Yaksh and Raakshas. When He wants to take any "body" for Himself, He creates a separate Rajo Gunee creation with His Maaya. When He wants to take any strange Yoni (species), He creates it with Sato Gun and when He wants to sleep, then He increases His Tamo Gun. Kaal depends on Him not that He depends on Kaal. Whenever this Kaal Eeshwar increases Sato Gun, He increases the power of Devtaa and kills Tamo Gunee Daitya.

Devarshi Naarad told one story to your grandfather Yudhishthir in relation to this, when he asked such a question at the time of his Raajsooya Yagya. When he was doing Raajsooya Yagya, he saw a strange thing happened, that Chedi King Shishupaal entered Shree Krishn's body in front of all the people. Devarshi Naarad was also there. So Yudhishthir asked him - "Entering the body of Shree Krishn is almost impossible for even very high devotees, then how this Shishupaal who had enmity with Bhagavaan entered His body? In earlier times because of abusing Bhagavaan, Rishi put Raaja Vane in Narak. Damghosh's both sons, Shishupaal and Dantvakra, started abusing Shree Krishn since they started speaking. Then how did this happen to them?" Then Naarad Jee told this story to him.

Naarad Jee said - "Insult, praise, respect, disrespect etc belong only to this physical body and this body is imagination only because of not knowing Prakriti and Purush properly. When we consider this body as our soul then we start thinking "This is me" and "This is mine", and this is the root of discrimination and this causes one feeling pain of abuse and teasing etc. But Bhagavaan does not have such pride as the people have, because He is the soul of everybody. Whatever punishment He gives to people, it is only for their welfare, not with jealousy or not because of anger, then how can we imagine that He will kill anybody. Therefore one should always think about Bhagavaan with any kind of feeling, whether it is with enmity, with jealousy, with devotion, with affection or with some desire.

Hey Yudhishthir, I feel that a human being is much more concerned about Bhagavaan when he has some kind of enmity with Him, in comparison to when he is His devotee. Many people have attained Him by desire, jealousy, fear and affection, as a devotee attains Him by devotion; such as, Gopiyaan have attained Him with desire, Kans with fear, Shishupaal and Dantavakra etc with jealousy, Yadu Vanshee with family relations, you people with affection and we with devotion. Besides the devotee, there are five types of people who think about Him. Raaja Vane does not stand in any of those categories. Your cousins were the Paarshad of Vishnu Bhagavaan. Only because of Braahman's Shaap they had to fall."

At this Yudhishthir asked the story of Bhagavaan's Paarshad and their Shaap. Naarad Jee said - "Once Sankaadik Muni came to Vaikunth to see Vishnu Bhagavaan. Although they are the oldest beings in this world, but they look like 5-year old children. They don't wear clothes. So considering them an ordinary children, Bhagavaan's gatekeepers did not allow them to go inside Bhagavaan's palace. At this they gave Shaap in anger - "Fools, Shree Krishn's feet do not have Rajo Gun and Tamo Gun, you are not supposed to live with them, therefore you go and be born in sinful Asur Yoni." And so they started falling, then Sankaadik Muni kind heartedly said, "OK, you come back in this Vaikunth after three lives." Then they bowed to them and accepted their punishment.

Hey Yudhishthir, In the first life they were Kashyap and Diti's sons - the elder one was Hiranyakashyap and the younger one was Hiranyaaksh. Both were the most honorable people in the society of Daitya and Daanav. Vishnu killed Hiranyakashyap taking the form of Nrisinh Avataar and Hiranyaaksh taking the Varaah Avataar at the time of bringing Prithvi out of the water. Hiranyakashyap wanted to kill his own son Prahlaad but he could not kill him.

The same [Jaya and Vijaya] were born in Vishravaa and Keshinee's (Kaikasee) house as Raavan and Kumbhkarn in their next life. Vishnu Killed them taking the Avataar of Shree Raam. You will hear their story from Maarkandeya Muni. The same Jaya and Vijaya are born now as your mother's sister's sons as Shishupaal and Dantavakra as Kshatriya. Now they are free from Sankaadik Muni's Shaap."

Then Yudhishthir asked - "When Prahlaad was a great devotee of Shree Hari then why Hiranyakashyap wanted to kill him? And how Prahlaad became a great devotee of Bhagavaan? I want to hear this story."
