Gaayatree Mantra-2

Kaam Gaayatree Mantra
There are different alternate forms of Kaam Gaayatree . One form is :
Om Makaradhwajaaya Vidmahe, Pushpavaanaaya dheemahi tanno anang prachodayaat.

Usually Gaayatree Mantra do not start with or contain particular Beej of Devataa. All Gaayatree Mantra start with Om. The only purpose of Kaam Gaayatree is to gain infatuation power, generally, or to win the love of someone, specifically.

Vaidik Soorya Gaayatree, which grants liberation, is supposed to be prohibited for women as women are considered to be unqualified for liberation. (But I personally don't believe this . Every soul is entitled for Moksh) This traditional ban is not applicable in the case of other Gaayatree of Devataa - which give material benefits - like Kaam Gaayatree. A women can technically chant this since it does not involve Moksh.
[K Ravindran]

The Kaam Gaayatree Mantra starts with Kleem and not Aum.
"Kleem Kaam Devaaya Vidmahe Pushp-baanaaya Dheemahi Tanno Anangah Prachodayaat"

Effect: A Gaayatree to heal your Love life and Love related problems.
Procedure : The traditional Maalaa-jap can be done. As per me, no time constraints to please the almighty.
Man or Woman: If Love was only for a Man and not universal to Woman and other fellow beings, I agree to your concept. I again personally do not believe in blind and meaningless rules. This is believed to be chanted by Gaudiya Vaishnav before the "Hare Krishna" Mahaa Mantra became popular which helped them to divert all their Love towards Krishna/ Vishnu.

There is a Mantra like that - with Kleem at the beginning - for Kaam Dev. He is also right regarding the effect of the Mantra. It is more of self curative rather than manipulative of something external to us. (I have an direct experience on this).

In any case there is no contradiction between self healing and gaining an external object. As per A-Dwaitik understanding there is no difference between our self and others - there is only one big mind or one big consciousness. Hence the Mantra can act on other minds too as all minds /souls are just parts of one big Mind. This is the theoretical basis of the Science of Mantra.

If both Kleem Beej recitation and Kaam Gaayatree Mantra are for materialistic gains and love related problems, then what is the difference between the two? Why have our scriptures given two Mantra for the same thing? Is one of them better/more effective/ shows results faster than the other?

Not just two there are many Mantra for the same purpose and each Devtaa has many Mantra. Kaam Dev himself has many Mantras . So is the case with Krishna, whose Mantra Kleem is and so is with Goddess.

The alternate forms of the same Devtaa are are not inferior or superior. Any one of them will do. Different Mantras come about from different names and aspects of the same god. For example Manmath is called Manmada, Kamadev, Manotbhava, Anang, Kandarp, Makaradhwaj, Meenaketu, etc. One can use any one of them or a combination of them in a Mantra.

Similarly the Beej themselves are different for different aspects of Manmath. For example apart from Kleem, Aim, Hreem, Sreem bloom are all his Beej - representing five different aspects of him. Each has a technical name. One is called Manmath, another Makaradhwaj, yet another Manodbhava etc. (I don't remember now which name belong to which Beej). Among the alternate forms one is not better , or effective or faster than others - that entirely depends on your Sadhanaa. They are different aspects of the same deity though.

Gaayatree Mantra

The Gaayatree Mantra is the most powerful Mantra in the world. I don't say it, even the dead men say this. And not only the Hindus, but the dead men of other religions also say this. Two Paarasee boys who died in their young age "Akaal Mrityu" wrote through automatic writings to their old Paarasee mother (who is also dead now), that they have found (in the Heavens) that Gaayatree Mantra is the most powerful Mantra in the world.
[Bhaskar, Dec 20, 2008, Jyotish Ganga Group]

By S. Kumar, Dec 20, 2008, Jyotish Ganga Group
Brahmaa conceived the Gaayatree Mantra consisting of 24 letters before he created the world. Each letter in this Mantra has a great potential force, which when released, branches off into the four Ved with their sub-branches just as a vast tree is hidden in its seed. After sprouting, the Mantra takes the form of the four Ved.

Philology (the science of language ie sound) was born of the 14 sounds. With these 14 sounds that vibrated and emanated when Lord Shiv, in his happier mood, played on his favorite Damaroo (a percussion instrument). With these 14 sounds (the ooutra) as the basis, Paanini, the greatest grammarian, wrote his Ashtaadhyaayee (or Mahaa Vyaakaran), the greatest and the most important compilation on Sanskrit grammar. Many scholars have commented on his work and such commentaries alone are enough to constitute a large library. Similarly, all literature in various forms is the outcome of the 24 letters of Gaayatree Mantra only.

While the Gaayatree Mantra is the Sootra or source, the compilations with their branches and sub-branches are its extensive commentaries. The 24 letters of Gaayatree Mantra and significance of each. The following table gives the 24 letters of the Gaayatree spell and its relation to the power.

The 24 powers of Gaayatree mentioned above awaken certain qualities, and along with this awakening one starts getting success and prosperity ie Siddhi. Many feel that these benefits are showered by some God or Goddess. But in reality the development of the subtle force is within themselves. If they are able to know the subtle force working in them, they will realize that such benefits do not accrue of their own accord and that all of them are the results of the interplay of spiritual forces in them.

Gaayatree Saadhanaa or Upaasanaa is not blind faith, but a scientific process whose development and progress are sure to yield the desired fruits. The authors of the science of mantra say that whatever sound comes out from the mouth is the outcome of the interaction of various organs such as the wind-pipe, the tongue, the teeth, the lips etc. The different organs or parts of the mouth are interconnected with the various parts of the body through tubular organs known as Naadee.

In those areas of the body wherever the Naadee are (the six Chakra are related to the Sushumnaa Naadee) there are lots of ganglia (Granthi), and the effect of vibrations of different parts of the mouth (place of sound organs) have a pressuring effect on these ganglia. If one's talk is defective, it means that some of the ganglia are not functioning properly or effectively. Our body contains many ganglia of different sizes, some are seen and some of which are not seen. The spiritualists know what power is contained in each of the ganglia. The various sounds produced through the organs of the mouth have their effect on these ganglia; they cause the ganglia to activate and discharge their stored power. The wordings of the Mantra are arranged on the basis of their sounds and intonations. The Gaayatree Mantra contains 24 letters, and all these 24 letters have a direct relation with the 24 ganglia in the human body. Our body can be compared to a Sitaar (a stringed musical instrument) with 24 strings.

When the Ganglia are activated they energize the power that yields the right kind of knowledge. The repetition, recitation or Jap of Gaayatree Mantra produces notes which mingle with similar sounds existing in Nature or Prakriti. This is what one achieves from Gaayatree Saadhanaa. The power of the spoken word or sound in Nature, the Word or Shabd is compared to Brahm.

When Brahm is inspired, his body quivers and the vibrations created by the movement of his body fall again on his body and take the form of Omkaar or Pranav which echoes seven times. Like the pendulum of a clock, this Omkaar creates the movement or vibrations which in turn keeps Nature or Prakriti functioning. As a result of such functioning, the three Gun - Sattwa, Rajas and Tamas - with their powers Hreem, Shreem and Kleem respectively flow and break off into different rivulets and streams and create the Beej Mantra. One should not underestimate the effect of the sound waves produced thus. Those well versed in the science of sound know what potency sound waves contain and what effects they produce. Sound works in its own sphere and even controls Nature. Thus Nature functions through the power of the word-sound.

Gaayatree Mantra is composed of selected sounds and due to their very order in the Mantra a very powerful current or wave is produced and made to flow .If one wishes to know what miracles the power of word-sound can create, one has to acquaint with the latest developments in science and technology. The Russians have devised what is known as the transducer, with which the aid of subtle sound waves can cut even thick iron and steel plates. From the cleansing of the sophisticated instruments to the working of the ordinary washing machine, all the work is now done by the aid of sound waves.

We read in history that the Deepak Raag was sung by Taansen, by the vibrations of the oil lamps, which had gone off glowed again. We know deer forgets its own self and the cows yield more milk when they hear enchanting music. Similarly, hearing the sound of cuckoo, a man's sensuousness is said to be aroused. When battalions of soldiers in formation cross a bridge, it is said the soldiers are not expected to maintain the uniformity in steps, as it is feared that when they keep uniformity in steps, due to the impact of the sound waves produced (known as resonance), the bridge, may collapse. Dr Huchisson of U.S.A., who has gained much popularity claims sure success in fighting certain diseases with the aid of sound waves. In all these cases, the vibrations mingle with similar sounds spread in subtle Nature or Sookshm Prakriti, revolve round and round and converge again on the place of their origin, thereby producing a kind of energy which produces the desired effect. In other words, many miraculous things happen due to the power of a Mantra.

The Gaayatree spell also derives its force in the same fashion. While uttering the Mantra whichever organs of the mouth come into play, activate their corresponding ganglia also. When the ganglia are activated thus, a musical (which is also spiritual) sound resembling the Vaidik Mantra spreads in the air, returning to its base again carrying along with it a powerful force of similar sounds already spread in Nature to help achieve the desired end. The musical effect of the vibrations, or the current occasioned by the utterance of the mantra on the already existing current created by the five elements and the subtle soul force or Aatm Shakti created by the five elements - ether, air, fire, water and earth, the subtle soul-force created by the intensity of piety, sincerity and earnestness of the prayer offered, make the Gaayatree forces powerful as a Divine Blessings. Absolute and firm faith in the divinity by the Saadhak in reciting Gaayatree yields a powerful subtle force.

Psychologists are well aware of the power of such force. As a matter of fact, many people have been saved and resuscitated from untimely death by this force. Many might have perished due to lack of faith. The great saint Tulaseedaas, in one of his couplets, has compared faith and belief to Paarvatee (Shraddhaa) and Parameshwar (Vishwaas). Belief has the power of converting a piece of rope in the dark into a snake, a tree into a spirit, and an idol into a Deity. Because of faith man spends his energy, money and even sacrifices his life. We can quote several people- Ekalavya and Kabeer, for example, who were able to amass immense knowledge in a split second (which otherwise had to be learnt at the feet of the tutor) on account off their faith and belief. If for instance a Saadhak takes a Saadhanaa of Gaayatree with the supreme faith and belief, he gets an unparalleled Siddhi because of the mingling of the sound force in Nature with the spiritual powers.

Gaayatree - the Prime Force of the Universe Gaayatree is the Aadi Shakti (the prime force). With this force both sentient and insentient worlds (life and matter) derive their movement (Gati) or force or inspiration, and result in development and progress. Just as one can easily hear any broadcast from any station by just tuning a knob, similarly, one can establish one's contact through one's spiritual powers with the subtle, all pervading Gaayatree. One can use one's own spiritual power for attainment of all or a particular benefit- material, psychological or spiritual. This is Saadhanaa or worship.

Gaayatree is the desire-yielding cow (Kaam Dhenu). One who recites Gayatri and engages one self in her Saadhanaa is blessed by Mother Gaayatree. He remains outside the purview of ignorance, incapacity and want of things and gets all he desires. Gaayatree PoojAa is done by chanting Gaayatree Mantra, worshipping the Gaayatree Yantra or conducting the Gaayatree Anushthaan'.

The recitation of Gaayatree Mantra as well as Veda-s has to be in particular scale of music- ascent and descent- and that is why it is said one cannot read and learn these from scripts, but one has to hear from the Guru the actual recital repeatedly and get the musical aspect, which is important for the activation of the ganglia at different levels, brought out by the Kundalinee principles.

The Jatharaagni, which is based in Moolaadhaar Chakra in every human, needs activation by recitals and musical notes, the Octave in three scales, Mandra, Madhyama and Taar Sthaayee. You would have heard the recitals of Rudram-Chamakam by the groups, changing the Sruthi-s.

I am just copying a small paragraph of my book under writing on Music related to this topic:

According to the Hindu Philosophy of Kundalinee principles:- The life giving flame originates from the triangular area formed by the navel, the coccyx and groins, holding the Life-forces, known as "Brahm Granthi" , and the flame known as Jatharaagni keeps on burning in the living body. The Naad is produced when the breath of air reaches this flame, under certain conditions and efforts as follows:

"Aatmaa Vivaksh-maano- AYAM MANA: PRERAYATE Manah
DEHASDHAM VAHNIMAHENTHI SA PRERAYATHI Maarutam
BRAHMAGRANDHI-SDHITHA: SO-ADHA KRAMAADURADHWAPADHE Charan
Naabhi-Hrid- Kanth Moordhaa-SYASHVAA VIRBHAAVAYATHI Dhwanim"
-Sangeet Ratnaakar M

On feeling the desire to produce "Naada", the mind is stimulated to make the required efforts. The mind kindles the "fire" which in turn awakens the life-forces. The Cosmic-energy located in "Brahmagrandhi" slowly rises to navel, heart, throat and to head and mind to produce desired modulated sounds, leading to Naadam.

The "Aaahat", "Vishuddhi" and "Sahasraara" Chakra (circular-movements) of Navel/ Heart, Throat and Head respectively, produces the three scales of Naad - Mandra, Madhyam and Taar Sthaayees, also stated by Saarang Deva and Paarshwa Dev:

"HRIDYANAAHATHA CHAKRE-ASMINNA- NILAANALA YOGATHA:
AAHATHASTHATHRA NAADA: SYAADITHI SAASTRE PRAKEERTHITHAM
KANTE VISUDDHICHAKRAM SYATH SAHASRAARAM THU MOORDHANI
MANDRA-MADHYAMA- TAARAKHYA BHAVEYU-STHESHU CHA KRAMAATH
POORVAM PRAANAAGNI SAMYOGAAD YO NAADA UDITHO BHAVETH
SA NAADA EVA OMKAARASSA EVA PRANAVAABHITHA: "
-Sangeet Daamodar

VYVAHAARE THASWOU THREDHAA HRIDI MANDRO-ABHIDHEEYATH E
KANTE MADHYO MOORDHNI THARO DWIGUNASCHOTTHAROTT HARA
-Sangeet Ratnaakar AM

The three types of Naad, viz Mandra produced from Heart, Madhya produced from Throat and Taar from Head The efforts to rise from Mandra Shadaj to Madhya Shadaj and Madhya Shadaj to Taar Shadaj, are doubled at each stage.

The union of the Oxygen and body-fire (metabolism) is "OM" or "Pranava". The four Naad - "Paraa", Pashyanthee", "Vaikharee" and "Madhyamaa" are produced by vibrations at different levels. Naad is caused by the union of Agni (Fire) and Praana (Oxygen) as follows:

"Nakaar: Praan Ityaahur-Dakaarasc Hannalo Mata:
Jaata: Pranaagni Sanyogaat Then Naado-Abhidheeyatey "
-Sangeet Ratnaakar, AM

Muthuswaami Dikshidar in "Vaathaapi Ganapatim" (Hamsadhwani), says "Paraadichatwaariva agaathmakam" showing these four Naad. Thyagaraja in "Naadathanumanisam" (Chittaranjani) describes Naad: "Sadyojaataadi Panch vaakraja Sa Ri Ga Ma Pa Dha Nee Vara Sapt Swar", the creation of Sapt Swar from five-faces of Shiv.
