Sarg 15 Sumantra Goes to Call Raam

Ministers, army-chiefs, prominent leaders of the city were all gathered there. The best of Braahman were prepared for Raam's coronation at the arrival of Pushya star at Raam's birth time Cancer. Gold water pots, shining well-decorated throne and a chariot covered with shiny tiger skin were all impressive. All materials for Raam's coronation ceremony were ready. A hand fan, made of gold and adorned with diamonds,  was brought for Raam which was shining like the spread rays of Moon. A white umbrella, a white horse, a beautiful elephant all were waiting for the coronation ceremony. Everything was there except Raajaa.

So the kings present there said - "Everything is ready, Sun has risen but the king is not in sight.  Hearing this Sumantra said - "I am going to Raam as per direction of king. I shall ask the well-being of king and the reason of his not coming" Sumantra again went to inner palace and prayed Raajaa Dasharath, "It is now morning, everybody is waiting for you. Please come and perform Raajya Abhishek of Raam."

Dasharath woke up and said to Sumantra asked - "Why didn't you follow my orders when you were asked to call Raam by her (Kaikeyee)? I am not sleeping, I am fully awake. Go and bring Raam immediately." Sumantra, wishing good for king, went immediately to carry out Raajaa's orders. When he arrived at Raam's palace, he heard people talking about Raam's coronation. Then he saw His palace which was like Swarg.

All gifts, which public brought for Him, were withheld outside the palace and people were just looking at the beauty of the palace. Sumantra entered the palace of Raam, passed Raam's friends and approached its inner part which was also beautiful and adorned beautifully. Raam's palace was as high as the top of Meru Parvat. He saw millions (Crores) of people standing outside to greet Raam. There he saw an elephant Shatrunjaya also for Raam. Sumantra entered the inner compartment of the palace.

Sarg 16-Raam Goes to Dasharath

Sumantra saw gatekeepers wearing orange uniform, he asked them to inform Raam about his coming. Raam ordered them to bring Sumantra inside. Sumantra saw Raam adorned in beautiful jewelry sitting on a golden couch and Seetaa was shaking Chanvar over Him. Sumantra greeted Him respectfully and said - "Raajaa Dasharath and Raanee (queen) Kaikeyee have remembered you, therefore you come immediately."

Raam happily said to Seetaa - "They must be talking about my coronation. Raajaa must have asked her about her opinion. Maa Kaikeyee must have been very happy to hear this. It is good that king and queen have sent only Sumantra to call. So I go to see them. Because my Raaj Tilak has to be performed today, so you be here and enjoy yourself with your friends."

Seetaa followed Him up to the door of the palace to see Raam off and said to Him - "May Indra in east, Yam Raaj in south, Varun in west  and Kuber in north  protect you." And Raam went away to see His father. As He came out, He found Lakshman standing at the door joining His palms together. Raam came out and greeted all people and started in His gold chariot.

Lakshman sat in the back of the chariot for Raam's protection carrying the royal umbrella and Chanwar. Behind the chariot was a huge crowd of elephants, horses and people. All women sitting on their balconies were showering flowers on Raam and talking among themselves - "Hey Kaushalyaa-Nandan (son of Kaushalyaa), Kaushalyaa is very fortunate to get a son like you; and whose husband is taking over the throne of His father that Seetaa is also a gem among women community. And surely Seetaa must have done some Tapasyaa because of which She has got such a husband like you."

Raam looked at the whole city while going. Its royal roads were full of people, elephants, horses and chariots. It was decorated beautifully.
