3-16-Management From Raamaayan

Raamaayan gives us some lessons of management too

(1) Baal Kaand
--Dasharath had a daughter

(2) Ayodhyaa Kaand
--Dasharath was doubtful

(4) Kishkindhaa Kaand
(1) Miscom
When Baalee

(5) Sundar Kaand
(1) Keep Your Aim Straight
When Hanumaan was crossing the sea, he refused to take rest on Mainaak Parvat, he said to Surasaa that he would fulfill her wish when he had finished Raam's work but when she did not agree he fulfilled it intelligently, he killed a Raakshas also on the way, thus he overcame all the difficulties by adopting varied ways.

Thus while doing any work one should keep one's aim straight to get it completed.

(6) Yuddh Kaand
(1) Brand Name
Raam wanted to build a bridge to Lankaa over the sea  The challenge in building the bridge to Lankaa was to make the stones float (as all stones will sink the moment it is thrown into the ocean). It is said that a solution was offered by supporters of Shree Raam, i.e. inscribe the name "Raam" on the stone and then throw it in the ocean. The same was done and it worked. So they were throwing stones in the sea after writing "Raam" on it.At one point, Lord Rama decided to extend a helping hand so he picked up a stone and threw it in the ocean. Surprisingly it sank without a trace. Why?

The stone sank because it was not inscribed with "Raam". Raam was confident that He did not need to use his "brand" as he himself was THE "brand" and tried to repeat the magic but it did not work. It was not "branded" with "Raam". Moral of the story is that the Brand Name is bigger than the "owner" of the brand name. A manager should feel good, when people recognize him by the name of his company.
