2-12-Raam Mahimaa |
2-12-Raam Mahimaa [Taken from Valmiki Ramayan 1/1/5 or V-Raamaayan, 6/49/128] In Raamaayan, Raam has granted His grace to everybody (Charaachar = Char and A-char = all living and nonliving beings). Their examples are Ahalyaa (stone, nonliving), Jataayu (bird), Baali (monkey), Raavan (Raakshas), Shabaree (low class women). If these were not there, nobody could understand this practically. Ahalyaaa (Stone, Non-living) -
Jataayu and Sampaati and
Kaagbhushundi (Birds) -
Jataayu fought with Raavan when he was taking Seetaa to Lankaa, but Raavan cut his wings and he fell down half dead. When Raam was wandering in search of Seetaa, He found him and he also told Him that Raavan had taken Seetaa towards Southern direction. After that he died. Raam performed his last rites with His own hands according to Vaidik rites. Kaagbhushundi was a crow. His story comes in Maanas' Uttar Kaand. Raam was so happy with him that He gave him immortality. In Maanas he says that "This is my 28th Kalp." He asked for Raam's Bhakti and now he tells Raam's Kathaa on Neel Parvat, to the North of Sumeru Parvat. Baali (Monkey) -
Raavan (Raakshas) -
Shabaree (Tribal Woman) -
