Vishwakarmaa |
Vishwakarmaa is the Divine architect of the whole universe. He is the son of Brahmaa Jee and is the official architect of Devtaa's palaces etc. All flying chariots or Vimaan, all their weapons, jewelry etc are his creation. He built the golden city of Lankaa, Krishn's city of Dwaarakaa, Aagneya Astra (Fire weapon), Indra's Vajra etc. Mahaabhaarat describes him as the Lord of Arts. As the legend goes on, his daughter Sanjanaa (or Sangyaa) was married to Soorya. But she was unable to endure the heat and light of the Sun, so Vishnu placed Soorya on His lathe and cut away his one eighth part of his brightness. The fragments that fell on the Earth because of this operation were used by Vishwakarmaa to build the disc of Vishnu, trident of Bhagavaan Shiv, weapons of Kuber, the lance of Kaartikeya (the god of war) and the weapons of all other Devtaa. Because of Vishwakarmaa's blessings only, Nal could build the bridge over the sea for Raam. The architects perform the worship of Vishnu when the Sun enters Bhaadrapad constellation.
