Raavan got very sad by abducting Seetaa and the insult by Vibheeshan. Since he always thought about Seetaa, so he decide to fight with Raam. He then sat in his ruby and coral studded gold chariot surrounded by Raakshas and went to his court. On the roof of his chariot was the white royal umbrella which was of full moon shape. Raakshas welcomed Raavan in the court. There were gold and silver platforms on Sphatic floor. There were many Aasan of gold and silver work. That ever-shining court, built by Vishwakarmaa, was guarded by 600 Pishaach (evil spirits). Raavan entered such a court and sat on his Aasan embedded with jewels and covered by the soft skin of Yukt Priyak deer. His pillow had Vaidoorya Mani (cat's eye) studded in it. After settling down he said - "I have to do a lot about my enemy, so call all Raakshas soon." Many Raakshas came on the order of Raavan. The city looked extremely crowded because of their movements. Some came in chariots, some on strong horses, and some came on elephants rushing fast. They parked their vehicles outside the gate and entered the court on foot. They touched the feet of Raavan and sat on low stools, Aasan and floor. Ministers who were scholars, great warriors and good in taking decisions gathered there, At the same time came Vibheeshan in his gold chariot. He greeted his elder brother telling his name. Shuk and Prahast also greeted Raavan. Raavan offered them separate Aasan. The aroma of best aloe and sandal paste which were on Raakshas' bodies diffused all around the royal court. No civilized Raakshas used to speak loudly, or call others by name, or tell lies. All Raakshas were looking at Raavan. Sarg 12-Raavan Consults His Ministers Raavan said to his army-chief, named Prahast - "You order your Chaturanginee army in the way it can protect the city." Prahast made this arrangement soon, appointed Raakshas accordingly and came back saying - "I have appointed my army at all appropriate places, now you may do whatever you like to do." Raavan said to all - "I have always consulted you all before taking any action and I have never failed in my mission. I will always obtain wealth with your cooperation as Indra obtains it with Moon, stars, and celestials. I was eager to say you all this even before but couldn't say it then because Kumbhkarn was sleeping. The mightiest Kumbhkarn has been sleeping for six months, only now he has got up. I abducted Raam's wife Seetaa from Dandak Aranya. When Her rose-colored soles fall on the ground, my desire to have Her increases. She does not want to be my wife and for me there is no woman like Seetaa in Tri-Lok. She is like a golden woman, with thin waist and moon-like face. Whenever I see Her I get mad after Her. She has asked me one year time to wait for Raam and I have accepted it. How these Vaanar, Raam and Lakshman can cross the sea? It is full of sea animals. But how can we say this? Because only one Vaanar came here and destroyed our Lankaa. It is difficult to know as our which line of action will bring success. Whoever has whatever intelligence, he advises according to it. Although we have no fear with humans, still we can discuss the matter. I won Dev-Asur Sangraam because of you and the same people are still with me. Raam has come across the sea after knowing about Seetaa. Now you advice me in such a way that I don't have to return Seetaa and I can kill both those brothers, even if they cross the sea. In fact I don't see anybody who can win me, so my victory is certain." Hearing lusty Raavan's words, Kumbhkarn got very angry and said - "You should have thought all this at that time when you abducted Raam's Seetaa from His Aashram. Hey Mahaaraaj, You have done this very wrong. You should have taken our advice at that time only. It would have been worthy of you. Hey Raavan, Who acts after considering the results of that action, he is always in comfortable situation. A king who acts along with justice does not repent after. Whoever does the first work later and latter one before, he does not know the difference between 'justified' and 'unjustified'. You have started this without considering its results. Consider yourself lucky that Raam has not yet killed you for this. Although you have started a wrong step with a mighty enemy, but still I will kill your enemies - Raam and Lakshman, whether He is Indra, Soorya, Agni or Vaayu, or Kuber or Varun. I will drink Raam's blood before He shot the second arrow at me. Then I will kill Dashrath's sons and bring you victory. I will kill Raam and Lakshman and eat all Vaanar. You may enjoy freely, drink the best of the best wines and Seetaa will be yours for ever after I have killed them both."
