Sarg 13-Dasharath Further Pacifies Kaikeyee

Kaikeyee was ready to do anything to succeed in her mission, but she was not certain about the success of her mission. Because her mission was opposite to Dashrath's mission and she was scared of Raam that he would harm Bharat. She said - "You are very firm in keeping your words and are truthful; the whole world knows this, then why don't you keep your words for me?" Hearing this Raajaa got unconscious again.

When he gained consciousness, he said - "When my Raam will go to exile, and I will die, then you will rejoice, Just think, when I will arrive in Swarg, and Devtaa will ask me about Raam's welfare then what do you think I will reply? That I have exiled Him to dandak van for 14 years on my queen's asking? I was childless, I got Raam with much efforts. Then how can I send Him to Dandak Van. Raam is to give happiness, then how can I give Him sorrow? How can I send my Raam to Van? Will I not feel ashamed of saying this?"

While Raajaa was crying thus evening fell and Sun was about to set. The night seemed very dark to dashrath in spite of Moon in the sky. He was just praying that night should not pass and morning should not break. Or you pass quickly because I do not want to see Kaikeyee any more.

Then Raajaa said to Kaikeyee politely  with joining his palms - "Listen, I am an old man especially a king. Have mercy on me. You yourself give this kingdom to Raam that will bring you great fame. It will be pleasing to me, to world, to priests, to Bharat." But she didn't listen to anything. Raajaa's no statement, request could change Kaikeyee's mind. Seeing this Raajaa fainted again.

Thus Raajaa passed the night with great difficulty and when in the morning singers started singing, Raajaa said "no" to them.

Sarg 14-Kaikeyee Further Teases Raajaa

[Raajaa Dasharath was very sad, in very grave trouble, and in a very confused state; because Kaikeyee said so much to him.] Kaikeyee again said - "You gave me Var and when time came to fulfill them then you are getting sad as if you have committed a sin? You should keep yourself within the limits of ethics.

For whatever bird, Shibi kept his promise; to maintain the same truth Alark gave his eyes to a Ved-Paathee Braahman on his asking; and because of complying with truth Saagar also keeps himself within his limits; because truth is the form of Omkaar, truth is Dharm; and if you believe in Dharm then you must follow the truth. Therefore whatever Var you have given to me, make them true, keep your promise, Send your son Raam to exile. If you will not do so I will take it as if you have left me and I will commit suicide in front of you."

Dasharath eyesight got dimmed but he could see Kaikeyee with great difficulty and said - "I leave you and your son. Night has passed and the Sun is rising, very soon people will be coming to call me for Raam's Abhishek and if you tried to disturb Raam's Abhishek in any way then you or your son cannot offer me water after my death. Only Raam  will offer me water Having seen people with joy, now I cannot see them greived by sorrow."

Kaikeyee filled with anger said harshly - "I don't understand these words. You should call your dear Raam here. Only you will consecrate Bharat for throne and order Raam to go to forest." Dasharath said - "I am bound by the tie of morality, I have lost my judgment, now I want to see my son Raam."

As Sun rose, Vashishth Jee came to the court after collecting the Abhishek material. He saw Soot-Putra Sumantra and said to him - "Inform the king quickly that I have come." There was so much material for coronation - pitchers filled with holy waters of Gangaa, gold pitchers with sea water, seat of Udaambar wood, all types of seeds, fragrant substances, gems of various kinds, honey, curd, clarified butter, Doorvaa grass, flowers, eight beautiful virgins, a chariot with four horses, a special kind of sword, a golden jug, a beautiful lion, a tiger skin, throne etc etc.

Sumantra went to palace and prayed Raajaa. He did not know the condition of Raajaa. He said happily - "As Maatali wakes up Indra who conquered Raakshas, I am waking you up in the same way. Wake up, get dressed according to the ceremony and come out. All preparations of Raam's crowning ceremony are complete. Give orders for the coronation ceremony of Raam because a kingdom without a king is like cattle without a herdsman, army without a commander, night without the Moon and cows without a bull."

Hearing Sumantra's sweet words Raajaa again got sad and said to Sumantra - "You are making me sad by saying all this." Sumantra got shocked to hear Raajaa so he slipped away a distance from that place. Raajaa couldn't speak a word because of severe depression so Kaikeyee said to Sumantra - "O Sumantra, Being happy because of Raam's Raajya Tilak, Raajaa could not sleep the whole night, that is why he is sleeping now, therefore without any second thought you bring Raam here." Sumantra was thinking of Raam'a coronation so he went out to call Raam to Raam's palace. When he came out he found people gathered in large number around.
