Sarg 23-Lakshman is Still Angry

Hearing the words of Raam Lakshman felt better, although he was still angry, his eyebrows were tense. He said to Raam - "Why do you speak about pitiable and weak destiny, why don't you talk about wicked Kaikeyee and Dasharath? Both are deceiving you cleverly in the name of righteousness. You don't know it. Var giving is not a recent incident, they must have been given long ago. Nobody wants any other on the throne. I do no like your this kind of righteousness.

They are your enemies in the form of parents. It is not even proper to think of fulfilling their own desires [at this stage]. In your opinion this might be the destiny's action, but I do not like you to be indifferent also in this regard. Only the coward and weak people talk about destiny not the brave men. Whatever destiny has ruined your coronation, I can crush that destiny, let people see it. Neither all the Lokpaal, nor the three worlds together can stop your coronation today, what to talk about father?

Whoever are sending you to forest to live for 14 years, they themselves will have to live there for 14 years. You will go to the forest after ruling 1,000 years and handing over he kingdom to your sons. This is the ancient practice of kings. You get busy with coronation and I alone is enough to face king's army. My arms are to beautify me, bow is not for decoration, sword is just not to tie around waist and arrows are not to be kept, all these things are to use against enemies. 

Hey Raam, You go to forest only after reigning for 1,000 years, as an old Raajaa goes to forest after handing over his kingdom to his son. And Bharat should never even think of the throne. I will protect you with my bow and arrows. So now you call Guru Vashishth and let him perform the Tilak ceremony."

Hearing this Raam said - "Hey Lakshman, Consider me tied with father's orders, only this path is good for us."

Sarg 24-Raam Consoles Kaushalyaa

Seeing that Raam had decided to go to forest, Kaushalyaa said - "Raam is born to Dasharath and me and he is a righteous personWho has not seen any sorrow, who always speaks softly to all, how my such Raam live in forest gathering pains? Even His servants eat very good food, then how He will be satisfied with only Kand, Mool (roots) and fruits etc. Who is going to believe that He is going to forest? Who will not be scared of this? Who can feel protected here in this kingdom? If you will go to exile then it is sure that destiny is all powerful. Hey Raam, As cow always follows her calf, I will go wherever you will go."

Raam got very sad to hear mother's words and said - "I know that Kaikeyee has got the kingdom by cheating Raajaa and I am going to forest, so if you will also go with me, then who will serve Raajaa? And he will die soon. Besides leaving one's husband is a very cruel act for a woman, that is why you should not even think in this way, because husband is Devtaa for a woman. Till he is alive you should serve him only. This is eternal justice."

Kaushalyaa was still sad. Raam said again - "Raajaa is your husband, my Guru, father and Swaamee, therefore we all should obey him. And when I come back wandering in forest for 14 years, I will obey you." Kaushalyaa said again - "I cannot live here in the midst of my co-wives, take me along." Raam again said - "As long a woman is alive, her husband is her Bhagavaan and Swaamee (master) to her. Raajaa Dasharath has the complete authority over you and me. When Raajaa, Swaame of Prithvi and a wise man is alive, we are not without Swaamee. Bharat is also a righteous person. he will oblige you. While I am away, take care of the king so that he doesn't feel the loss of his son at all.

Even if any woman performs fast and other religious activities, and if she doesn't obey her husband, she is ill-fated. And even if she doesn't respect Devtaa she will get Swarg by serving her husband. She has to do service to her husband devoted to her husband with love, this is seen from the beginning, is heard from the ancient text, and mentioned as righteousness.

You stay here, worship Devtaa and Braahman for my welfare. If you will live with discipline till I come back then your all desires will be fulfilled." Kaushalyaa broke into tears and said - "Now I won't stop you. I shall be all right when you come back. Go now and come back soon. Be happy, but my sorrows will end only when you are back from forest."
