28-Shiv and Vishnu
There are many references where one can find that Shiv and Vishnu are the same
It is usual to say,
Deho devaalayah prokto devo jeevah sadaashivah
tyaajedagnaana nirmaalyam soham bhaaven poojayet"
My body is the temple. Jeev is Sadaashiv. Removing the dirt of Agyaan and
assuming that I am that Sadaashiv, I worship Him.
One may remember Raamkrishn Paramhans's method of worship of mother Kaalee.
Mahaa Nyaas is a process where the worshipper establishes Rudra in the
different parts of his own body to feel that he is Rudra himself. Then
through Namakam and Chamakam the Lingam is bathed.
It should be remembered that Vishnu himself tells Daksh Prjaapati (vide
Bhaagvat Puraan),
Aham brahmaa cha Sharvashch jagataha kaaranam param
aatmeshwar upadrishtaa swayam drig visheshanah."
I am the primordial cause of this world. I am Brahmaa and Shiv also.
Aatmaa, Eeshwar etc., are all one without any differences.
Shiv Puraan also says the same thing.
kwachid brahmaa kwachid vishnuhu kwachidrudrah prashasyate..."
Bheeshm in the Mahaebhearat says,
ko hi shakto bhavam Gyaatum madvidhah parameshwaram...."
There are references in various Upanishad to show that there is no
difference between the two - Shiv and Vishnu.
