22-Stories of Vishnu-2

Vishnu's boons are not like Brahmaa and Shiv's boons as mostly Asur were very mighty, they desired for more power and immortality (Devtaa already had it) and almost all Asur worshiped Brahmaa Jee or Shiv Jee. Vishnu's stories are of different types. Read some of them and appreciate them.....

Gaandhaaree's Curse to Krishn
Gaandhaaree also cursed Vishnu, in His Krishn's Avataar. When the MBH war was over, Krishn went to see Gaandhaaree in the war field. Gaandhaaree said - "Why have you come here now to see me. My all sons have been killed. And it is only because of you that I have lost my 100 sons. If you wanted you could have stopped the war and saved my sons. I curse you that as my Vansh (lineage) is finished, in the same way your whole Kul will also be finished." Krishn accepted her curse, smiled and left Gaandhaaree alone without saying anything. In the last Krishn's whole family was destroyed by that curse.

Durvaasaa Protects Krishn....
It looks odd to hear that Krishn, Vishnu, who Himself protects the whole world, is protected by a Rishi. But it happened. Once Durvaasaa Rishi came to Krishn to visit Him. Krishn and Rukminee knew that he was a very angry Rishi, so both served him very well and tried their best not to displease him at any cost. Whatever he said, it was completed without any wrinkle on their forehead. He destroyed many things in HIs palace but Krishn didn't show any anger to him. In the last the asked for some hot Paayasam. Rukminee immediately arranged for it. When it came they offered it to him, but he said - "Now I do not want to eat it, you both smear it on your body." It was an strange order but both could not have said "No" to him. The Paayasam was hot, both smeared it on their body. Although they felt it burning but Rishi's order was order.

Muni Durvaasaa noticed that Krishn had smeared the Paayasam on His whole body except His feet. Durvaasaa got angry to see this, he said - "Krishn, I came here to put this protection Kavach on your body. This Paayasam was not an ordinary Paayasam, it was the Kavach (armor) for you so that your body is safe in any kind of battle. Since you smeared it in your whole body, so your whole body has become of Vajra (hard) and it is protected, but as you have left your feet without smearing the Paayasam, they are now without Kavach. Now you will die because of your feet only." Krishn bowed His head to Muni and said politely - "Hey Muni, Whatever it is, I could not have touched your Prasaad with my feet at any cost." Durvaasaa Muni got very pleased hearing this reply but was sad as Krishn's feet remained without Kavach. Krishn died of the arrow hit in His foot.
[Durvaasaa-3]
