Once Ganapati was doing Tapasyaa for Vishnu, that Tulasee came there and wanted to marry him, but then Ganapati refused to marry her, saying that he wanted to spend his entire life in meditation and he would never get married. Tulasee got angry for not getting her desire fulfilled, so she cursed Ganapati that he would have to marry even without his wish. Ganapati also got angry being cursed without any reason, so he also cursed Tulasee that she would become a plant but also blessed her that she would be used in Lord Vishnu's worship, but he himself would never accept Tulasee.
