How to Worship
Worshipping Shiv
Many people feel they need protection and the Shiv Mantra may be the
answer to the first impulse. To include worship of Lord Shiv in your
practice, it is sufficient to utter his name while dropping clear water
over a stone representing him. Shiv is the aspect of the Divine that the
Rishi have recognized as the originator; the Shaakt have recognized him as
the Lord of Kundalinee and Hath Yog, which are very active practices
calling for demanding discipline. But for those who do not have the
ability of such diascipline, calling on Shiv's name while pouring a little
water over a Shiv stone is adequate.
Worshipping Soorya
Soorya Dev is also pleased by a little water offered to him at the sunrise
time.
Worshipping Tulasee
All Hindu households should a Tulasee plant in their house. Why? To offer
a leaf to Vishnu, and to offer the water to it, and to pour the remaining
water of your daily worship in it.
Light a Diyaa (lamp) also at
its roots in Kaarttik and Maagh months.
