In since Raam Rakshaa Stotra is a Kavach and like other Kavach it takes time to show its effect..
(1) Generally 1000 recitation of a Kavach makes it effective followed by 1/10th part of its Jaap done as Havan [sacrificial fire ritual]...
(2) Before starting the Kavach ... please recite 1 Lac Vaishnav Mantra of Lord Raam along with Dhyaan Mantra of Lord Raam.....
(3) besides that the best way to start this recitation of Kavach will be on Geetaa Jayantee or Raam Navamee......
(4) a strict vegetarian diet with absolute Brahmacharya is the norm for this Vaishnav ritual during the period of practice......
(5) worshipping Lord Hanumaan and Tulasee are also needed....

The importance of Kavach can't be said in words and when it comes to Raam Rakshaa Stotra or Bajarang Baan or Kaalee Kavach or Chandee Kavach -- there are some disciplines which have to be followed so that it benefits the native in everyway.. remember we all have to take pain to gain something... Tantra is absolutely not opposed to Bhakti and devotion.. without Bhakti there can be no Tantra.

Raam Rakshaa Kavach turns out to be Taantrik only when you actively do Prayog Karm. Refee to 6-letter Mantra of Shree Raam and Shree Raam Taptiya Upanishad.
