Mantra for Brihaspati
This is the 12 syllable Mantra called Dwaadash Aksharee – (best mantras for acceptance of an avatar is the 12 syllable Bhaagavat Mantra). This Mantra is for those who have not been initiated any specific Beej Mantra. Those who are initiated into a seed syllable by their Deekshaa Guru, they may like to use the same syllable with the Brihaspati Mantra.

! namaao Bagavato baRhsptyao

All Mantra for action or battle are normally 10 syllable Mantra like the famous Raam Rakshaa Mantra – "Raamaaya Dhanush-baaNaye swaahaa" which is well known prayer for asking Sri Raamaa to pick up His powerful bow and protect you. Therefore a 10 syllable *action address* is added to this 12 syllable Mantra for Brihaspati to drive away the Asuras and Rakshas from one's life. This is the only means to be able to face Karm manifestation peacefully as Bhagavaan Brihaspati comes forth to use his powerful charms in pushing the demons back into their dark holes. Thus the 22 syllable Mantra (12 + 10 = 22). This alternate form of Gaayatree Chhand which is short by 2 syllables, is considered very auspicious for the complete manifestation of God [24 -2 = 22 syllables]. We have the two forms of the Mantra here.
