7-4-Saturn (Shani)-The Impact of Lord Shani on Human Life

Some Interesting Things About Saturn
If you wish to know how it will affect you, please read this whole article without rushing. If you rush, Saturn will not be happy as he is a very slow moving planet.

Today (15th November 2011 at 8.45 IST) Saturn moved from Virgo to Libra. He is going to be in Libra for approximately 3 years - till 2nd Nov 2014. As usual, within this period he will give some lessons to all of us. Saturn has a no-nonsense quality about it, so it is best to cooperate with Saturn, lest we experience its downside: Suffering. I call Saturn “Spiritual teacher who checks our Kaarmik Passport”. Saturn is the planet of responsibility, maturity, structure, organization, discipline, routine, spirituality and work. Saturn is slow-moving. It gives long-lasting results, but the results take time to manifest. The way to cooperate with Saturn’s energy pattern is to Do Your Work, Maintain your Disciplines and Routines, Accept your Responsibilities, Fulfill your obligations, Be Patient for Results. Do not rush - one step at a time. Then the journey will be stronger and steady.

Saturn is considered good in Libra; as this is Saturn’s sign of Exaltation. Therefore, at least theoretically, the better qualities of Saturn will be exhibited during this three-year long transit. Libra is the sign of Harmony, Balance, and Fairness. Libra is essentially an Idealist, both in the area of Relationship as well as in Social Action. Saturn as the planet of Structure in the sign of the Idealist wants to set up Ideal Structure. Thus this planetary pattern encourages the forming of better set-ups for Society, as well as in our personal lives. On the other hand, Saturn is not always successful in Libra, because Libra is also the sign of Agreement and Compromise. If challenged by other planetary energies, Saturn’s qualities of Persistence and Delay can get Libra bogged down in trying to find a solution that is fair and equal to everyone.

One thing to keep in mind when considering the effects on your own life is that Saturn gives longevity to whatever is begun while it is transiting in a particular house of your chart. This is regardless of whether it is for good or ill. Therefore, you have to be careful of events and actions related to the themes of the house affected by Saturn’s transit; such beginnings will enforce their results for a long time to come. Thus, if you get married while Saturn transits through your 7th House, the House for Marriage, the marriage will last for a long time, whether you want it to or not. Similarly, getting sick while Saturn transits through the 6th House, the House of Disease; or the 8th House, the House of chronic conditions ensures that the affliction will be hard to get rid of.

Saturn is a Kaarmik planet. It would appear that Saturn’s role is to make us grow inwardly by inflicting suffering, denial and delay. He causes poverty, deprivation and want.

The beneficial side of Saturn, relates to one’s spiritual life in a strict and exacting manner – something that is rather hard to live up to. Therefore, one who can practice spirituality – compassion - meditation – loving kindness and one who can take one step at a time and be slow and steady will overcome most of the negativities that Saturn may create.

According to Hindu mythology, Saturn is the son of planet Sun. Sun moves in a chariot driven by Saturn. Saturn represents the darkness, death and sorrow that we must overcome to see the true light. Symbolic of a Yogee in meditation, Saturn can provide complete detachment and independence. He gives the concentration, the seriousness and the sense of detail and discipline that is necessary to deal with the challenges of life. To know this you should know your Indian Astrology star sign or the Ascendant or in Sanskrit we call it Lagna. Because this relates only to your Indian Astrology star sign and not to your Sun sign in Western astrology. The Indian star sign will not be the same as the western Sun sign.

Saturn is going to be in Libra but including Libra all the other signs: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces may feel or experience the following within that period (from now till end of 2014). No need to have any fear. Take it as a lesson and see how we can deal with these lessons. Do not worry about the losses as the lessons are much more important for us to progress in life. Please do understand that I have explained only some tendencies and probabilities. Therefore there is no need to be too serious. If you wish to know much more in detail, then you should sit with a Vaidik astrologer and study your horoscope in-depth.

The magnitude of these changes or the positive and the negative nature can be evaluated only by studying the positions of other planets in your horoscope. The indications given below are fairly general. However it can be very helpful when planning for the future. One who needs to know much in depth may need to seek for an in-depth study of the horoscope.

For example --
If Moon is placed in any of the following signs or houses in your horoscope where Saturn is going to see and make some changes, then the issues will be very emotional and sensitive.
If Ketu (Ke) is placed in your horoscope where Saturn will make some changes then it will be a worrying time.

Even then if we study the chart in-depth we may see how other beneficial planets such as Jupiter, Mercury, Venus and the strength of the planets could minimize these negative effects or totally nullify the negativity.

Shani is good for Vrishabh, Tulaa, Makar and Kumbh Raashi people, that is why their all desires will be fulfilled.
Since the Saadhe Saatee is ending for Sinh Raashi people, that is why their mental tension will also end.
