LK-Kaal Sarp Yog

Kaal Sarp Yog
See also    Kaal Sarp Yog in Astrology

Kaal Sarp Yog and its opposite, the so called "Sweet Sarp Yog", are by no means ancient. Both these Yog were introduced by the late Hindu astrologer Gopala Krishna Rao (Meena) in his book 'Naadi Joytisha', written somewhere in the 1950s. However, Gopala Krishna Rao never mentioned anything about an Upaaya for this Yog. Kaal Sarp Yog is not being mentioned in any of the traditional classics of Hindu astrology. It is also not being mentioned anywhere in our great Lal Kitab. I also like to mention that my good friend Mr. K.N. Rao from Delhi is very critical about Kaal Sarp Yog, since it has been misused a lot to scare the people, very much like the way Mangal-dosh and the 7½-years of Saturn are being used to exploit people all the time.
[Finn Wandahl, Lal Kitab]

We agree with you. The article I had advised Shri Rakesh Ji to read opens with these words:

The concept of the Kal Sarp Yog is a very recent phenomenon, may be just a few decades old. It does not occur in the classic works of Astrology. So very little literature is available on it that the concept sounds as a yet another ploy of the astrologers to make money. Each astrologer interprets it the way he wants. In most cases it is used to intimidate his clients and make a sucker of them. Of course we are aware of what respected KN Rao Ji has said about the Kaal Sarp Yog.

We talk about the Kal sarp yog because it has become a part of our Indian psyche. Ignoring it would amount to pushing natives to the fraud astrologers who might scare them and fleece them. At the same time we also admit that when half the horoscope is unoccupied, it does make it abnormal and certain Upaaya would be needed to take care of this imbalance.

Lal Kitab accepts Rahu as the head of snake and Ketu as the tail of the snake & Saturn is elaborated as snake in Lal Kitab. As example in the very beginning of Lal Kitab says about Raahu Ketu--

(1) Ek ne insaan ko sir se pakadaa ho, doosare ne pair se, to khud bakhud unko jagah mil gayee
(Means ;- Rahu will be treated as head and Ketu as tail)
(2)  About Saturn -
Shani khaanaa no 4 addressed as Paanee kaa Saanp,
Shani khaanaa no. 5 as Bachchey khaane waalaa Saanp
Shani khaanaa no. 6 as Raat kaa andhaa Saanp

So much use of this word proves that Saturn is called as snake in Laal Kitab. Now that Kaal Sarp means Kaal = time, (Samaya); Sarp - snake. As definition we can say that the cycle of time in which all planets come between Raahu and Ketu in any horoscope will be treated as Kaal Sarp Yog. It is declared name in Jyotish. At other side when I saw in Lal Kitab-- I found some descriptions and definitions as below

(1) Pahaley Gharon mein dum Ketu hote Ichchhaa-dhaaree Shani hotaa ho, Ulat magar Jab Teve baithaa Azdahaa Khoonee Banataa ho (here ajdahaa is Ajgar snake) Saanp Shani dum (tail) Ketu ginatey mukhadaa (head) Raahu khud hotaa ho (Page no. 585 original book 1952)
(2) Shaneechar ko agar Saanp maanaa jaaye to us kee dum (tail) Ketu baithaa hone waale Ghar mein hogi aur us kaa Raahu baithaa hone waale ghar mein jaanaa jaayegaa yaa Shaneechar kaa sir Raahu hogaa aur Shaneechar kee dum Ketu hogee. (p. 588 at no. 5 in the chapter of AAM HAALAAT)
(3) Shani ka Swabhaav is specially counted by Raahu and Ketu in Lal Kitaab. As well as at page no. 590 --- Mandee haalat mein amooman Shaneechar baithaa hone waale ghar ke dono taraf hee Daanyen (right) Baanyen (left) Raahu ketu baithaa hone ke Vaqt unkaa bhee mandaa asar hogaa. (after this a chart has been written at page 590 showing BAD effects of SAANP (Shani)

4.At page no. 623 I saw the definition about bad Saturn as below
HEADING:- Shaneechar ke mande asar kaa rukh kidhar hogaa, Raahu ko sir aur Ketu ko dum (tail) samajh kar ek Saanp kee shakal (shape) Banaayein to Raahu baithaa hone vaale ghar se aage jahaan kaheen bhee yaanee jis khaane mein rekhaa nikal kar seedhe hee jaa sakatee ho, us ghar par Shani kaa asar padegaa. (Here also pandit ji assumed a snake). Even this line has been said for Saturn Khaanaa No 8. But in other context also Saturn treated as snake & Raahu called as head & Ketu as tail. As said above :--- Saanp Shani dum (tail) Ketu ginate mukhadaa (head) Raahu khud hotaa ho.

It means we can create a shape of snake in each horoscope.
Here my only view is that Lal Kitab already pursues Raahu Ketu as head & tail of Saturn (Snake) & if a horoscope comes before us including all planets between Raahu and Ketu, then as per Lal Kitab, a picture appears that all planets controlled at one side (left or right) by the snake (Saturn) placing his head Raahu & tail Ketu. So even Lal Kitab does not used the word Kaal Sarp Yog directly. But above said situation of planets gives us an image of Horoscope as Kal = Time or SAMAYA and Sarp = Snake Yog, created in horoscope.

Yaani ki Samay ke yaa vaqt ke mutaabik sabhee graha saanp ke sir (head) aur dum (Tail) ko paar naheen kar sake aur ek aisa Yog ban baithaa jiskaa naam Kaal Sarp Yog ke alaavaa aur kuchh bolanaa sateek nahee maaloom hotaa. Bhaley hee laalkitab maen ise is naam se naheen kahaa gayaa hai lekin Raahu aur Ketu ko to Saanp (Saturn) kaa sir aur dum kahaa gayaa hai.

All this is my view as per understanding of quotes of revered Lal Kitab. But knowledge & research has no limit. I m owed to all learned members & there views.

Sir Lal Kitabee ji yahi to kalsarp yog hai. Admi ko rahu sar se pakare aur ketu paron se. dono milkar admi ko shikanje men kas len aur use agey na barhne de. Kalsarp yog mein dono papi rahu ketu shani ki shakal banakar admi ka dam hi ghont dete hain. Jab kabhi unki jumbish dheeli padti hai to admi thoda bahut age ko barh pata hai. Kalsarp yog wale shaksh 42 sal ke bad kafi tarakki bhi karte hain. Rahu ketu ke phande se aazaad hokar aadmee bahut tezee se tarakkee kartaa hai. Log bataate hain ki shaayad Hindustan kee kundali mein bhee Kaal Sarp Yog hai, 42 saal baad 90 ke dashak mein hi tarakkee shuru huyee. Aapne Raahu sar aur Ketu poonchh ban gayaa saanp - achchhaa point bataayaa hai.
