Planetary War

When two or more planets clash, there is a planetary war. Some believe, that outcome of a planetary war depends on degree of longitude, but it is not so. It is true that the degree of latitude is used in deciding planetary war, and longitude is used only for deciding whether a war occurs or not, but the outcome of war has nothing to do with degrees of longitude. Modern astrological software do not even provide the data of latitudes, hence astrologers are mostly using only longitudes to decide outcome of planetary war. It is against classics.

There are five types of Planetary war.

It can be understood by an example. -  of which the fourth type is applicable here : Apsavya War, which is of two sub-categories, Vyakta and A-Vyakta. In present case, it is Vyakta Apsavya War between Mercury and Venus because both have different Bimb (shadow) sizes. Here is the computation --

MERCURY :
Longitude : 95:12'32.5195"
Latitude : 00:43'52.8191"
Distance from Earth : 0.6171 AU
Magnitude : +2.4

VENUS:
Longitude : 95:19'14.0993"
Latitude : 01:00'58.5057"
Distance from Earth : 1.6293 AU
Magnitude : -3.9

Difference in magnitude is +2.4 - (-3.9) = 6.3, hence brightness will be 2.5 raised to the power 6.3, i.e., Venus is 321.4 times brighter than Mercury. Although Venus is farther than Mercury on that day, still its brightness is too much for Mercury. Hence Venus is the winner.

Mercury is South from Venus, hence losing the war on second count of latitude too.

Mercury is defeated, hence it loses all its good or bad powers to Venus.

By dint of being Lord of the 5th and 10th Houses, Venus is a highly benefic Yog giver. By defeating Mercury, Venus takes over the effective Lordship of the 9th and 6th Houses owned by Mercury, one bad and one good, hence Mercury is normal on the whole and Venus is highly benefic. If a benefic planet defeats a neutral or malefic planet, war is good. Hence, in this case planetary war is good for the 7th House with which Venus has a natural affinity.

A winner planet is not afflicted by a defeated planet. The defeated planet loses its powers.
