Sarg 74-Hanumaan Relieves Afflicted Vaanar

Vaanar got very sad on Raam and Lakshman being unconscious. They thought that it happened because they forgot to perform their duties. At this Vibheeshan told them that it was not like this, it is because Raam and Lakshman did not want to insult Brahmaa's power. If they had wanted they could be all right themselves. Indrajeet got this weapon from Brahmaa. So to obey Brahmaa Jee, both Raam and Lakshman are sleeping.

Later Vibheeshan and Hanumaan went to battlefield with torches. They saw the whole battlefield full of fallen Vaanar. They saw Sugreev, Angad, Neel, Sharabh, Gandhmaadan, Jaambvaan, Sushen, Mayand, Nal, Jyotirmukh, Dwivid etc Vaanar too lying on the ground. Vibheeshan asked Jaambvaan if he was all right even with so many arrows?" Old Jaambvaan said with great pain - "Come, I recognize you, but I am not able to see you with my eyes. My whole body is full of arrows, but tell me if Vaayu-Putra Hanumaan is alive or not?"

At this Vibheeshan asked - "Why are you asking about Hanumaan instead of Raam and Lakshman. This shows that you love Hanumaan more than Raam, Lakshman, Sugreev and Angad?" Jaambvaan said - "Hey Raakshas, If Hanumaan is alive, then we are all alive even though we are dead; but if Hanumaan is dead then everybody is like dead in spite of being alive."

Hearing this Hanumaan touched his feet and greeted him. Jaambvaan said to Hanumaan - "Hey Pavan-Putra, At this time you take care of these Vaanar. After a long distance there is a Himvaan Parvat. Near that Parvat there is a Parvat with herbs. There are four herbs there which emanate light in all directions with their own light. Bring them and save Vaanar's lives.

Hearing this Hanumaan flew very fast and arrived on the Parvat where there were Aashram of Muni. As Hanumaan landed there, the herbs stopped emanating light. Seeing this Hanumaan said to Parvat - "If you  will not help Raam at this time, then I will destroy you." Hanumaan waited for a while, then he started uprooting the Parvat itself. He took the whole Parvat out and flew back. Seeing this gigantic act, Devta prayed him. All Vaanar got up after smelling those herbs. They felt as if they have awaken from sleep. After this Hanumaan returned that Parvat at the same place and came back.

Sarg 75-Vaanar Burn Lankaa in Evening

After Raavan's sons and Kumbhkarn were killed, Sugreev said to Vaanar - "Enter Lankaa towards evening carrying torches. It will be appropriate to enter in the evening and burn the whole Lankaa, because at this time Raavan will not be able to protect his city." Hearing this all Vaanar entered Lankaa carrying torches in the evening. Seeing so many Vaanar coming like this, the gatekeepers ran away in fear. Vaanar put the Lankaa's houses on blaze going around. Lankaa's houses and palaces started falling. Everything started burning in them.

Raakshas started crying all around. Women started jumping from their houses carrying their children. Seeing Lankaa burning, elephants and horses were released. All animals started running all around. Raakshas had come out to fight. Seeing this Raam and Lakshman started showering arrows. As Raam made sound out of His bow, Raakshas got frightened. It seemed to them as if Bhagvaan Shiv Himself has come with all His fury.

Sugreev ordered Vaanar to surround all the gates of Lankaa. When Raavan came to know about this, he got very angry. He ordered Kumbhkarn's sons, Kumbh and Nikumbh, to take army and fight. Raavan sent many mighty Raakshas in that army. So Kumbh and Nikumbh went to fight. Both armies fought very bravely. One Raakshas killed 10 Vaanar each, but Vaanar surrounded the Raakshas army and hit them with trees and rocks. Because of this Raakshas lost their armors, chariots etc. Seeing this Raakshas got afraid.
