Paarvatee Jee said - "Maheshwar, You have told this Kathaa very nicely. I am blessed hearing this Kathaa, now I wish to listen to Vaasudev's story." Mahaadev Jee said - "Hey Paarvatee, Vaasudev's stories fulfills all wishes of the listener. Listen. There happened to be a King named Vasudev who was the son of Devameedh. He married the daughter of Ugrasen, Devakee. Ugrasen had a son named Kans. He was very mighty. When Devakee got married to Vasudev and they set off to go their home. At that time because of love for Devakee, he drove their chariot to their home. At the same time an Aakaashvaanee said - "Kans, The 8th child of this Devakee will kill you." Hearing this Kans got ready to kill his sister. Wise Vasudev Jee said - "She is your sister. According to Dharm, you should not kill her. You may kill those children who are born to her." Kans understood and he kept them in his own palace and arranged all kinds of comforts for them.

In the meantime Prithvi went to Brahmaa Jee and said to him - "Prabho, Now I cannot tolerate any more, I cannot bear these Lok any more. There is no Dharm in the world. I am unable to bear it." and she disappeared. Brahmaa, Mahaadev and other Devtaa went to Vishnu and prayed Him. He asked them - "Why have you come here?" Brahmaa Jee said - "Jagannaath, Prithvi is very much afflicted. Many Raakshas have been born there - Jaraasandh, Kans, Pralamb, Dhenuk." Bhagavaan said - "I will incarnate in Yadu Kul on Prithvi." So all Devtaa went to their Lok. Hari said to His Maayaa - "Devee, Bring the 6 sons of Hiranyaaksh and keep them in the womb of Devakee one by one. The 7th one will be of Anant and the 8th one will be me. You take birth from Nand Jee's wife Yashodaa, and this will make Indra worship you."

Note
[Bhaagvat Puraan, 10/u22] says that these 6 sons were Hiranyakshyap's sons. Although we have never heard about both of them - neither of Hiranyaaksh's sons nor of Hiranyakashyap's sons.

Birth of Krishn

So Maayaa brought Hiranyaaksh's 6 sons and kept them in Devakee's womb one by one, and mighty Kans killed them as soon as they were born. Then the 7th child was the part of Anant. When the child became strong, Maayaa transferred it to Rohinee's womb. Because Maayaa pulled it out that is why he was known as Sankarshan. On Aashwin Krishn Ashtamee, in Rohinee Nakshatra, Rohinee gave birth to Bhagavaan Sankarshan. After him Hari came in the womb of Devakee and on Bhaadrapad Krishn Ashtamee He appeared in Vasudev's house. Because of being the son of Vasudev, He was called as Vaasudev. Seeing Him, Vasudev prayed Him that He should hide His this form because Daanav would not be able to tolerate it." Hari then became ordinary human child. All guards of that palace slept and Vasudev went out of the palace. It was raining heavily outside. Shesh Naag followed Him bringing Him into the shade of his thousand heads. Yamunaa's water also leveled down so Vasudev Jee easily crossed it.

On the other side, in Nand village, in Nand's house Yashodaa gave birth to a daughter, but she slept because of Maayaa. Vasudev lay his son on her bed, took her daughter and came back to Mathuraa. He lay that girl on Devakee's bed. immediately she started crying. Hearing the cry of a child, all guards woke up and informed Kans about the birth of a child. Kans also came there soon and he hit that girl on a stone. But that girl immediately went into sky and said - "O Fool, What will happen to hit me on the stone. Your killer has already taken birth. Who ceates the world, who destroys the world, He has incarnated on the Prithvi. Only He will kill you." And she went to Himaalaya Parvat.

Hearing this Kans got very angry. He called his Pralamb etc Daanav and said to them - "It seems that Devtaa have said something about killing the Raakshas to Vishnu thapowers.t is why He has incarnated here on Prithvi in human form. So you all go and kill any child who seems to have any extraordinary without any hesitation. After a while Vasudev Jee went to Nand Jee and said to him handing over his son born from Rohinee - "Nand Jee, Protect my this son also like your son. He has been brought here because of the fear of Kans." Yashodaa got very happy to get two sons and she started bringing them together. Thus both children were growing up in Nand's house. One day Vasudev Jee sent Garg Rishi to do Jaatkarm and Naamkarn Sanskaar. He named the elder boy as Sankarshan, Rauhineya, Balabhadra, Mahaabal and Raam; and the younger one as Shreedhar, Shreekar, Shree Krishn, Anant, Jagatpati, Vaasudev, and Hrisheekesh etc and said - "In the world they will be known as Raam and Balaraam.

Killing of Raakshas

One day Pootanaa, who killed children, came to Nand vilaage. She applied poison in her breasts and started feeding Krishn. Krishn recognized that she-demon, so He not only suckled on her breast but He pulled her life also through it. Thus she died and Krishn started playing on her chest. Nand Jee got frightened and applied some cow dung and hair to His head. Then he gave Him a good bath and performed last rites of that she-demon. One day Krishn was sleeping under a cart that He woke up and started crying throwing His legs. Because of the hit of His legs that cart was turned over and whatever pots were kept on it all got broken.  Yashodaa got very surprised to see this, she immediately picked up Krishn in her laps.

After some time both children grew up that they started crawling. In those days a Raakshas used to wander in the guise of a cock. He was looking for an opportunity to kill Krishn. Krishn recognized him and killed him by slapping him. After some time, Krishn started wandering in the whole Brij. He used to eat butter from other Gopee's houses. One day Yashodaa got very angry at this, so she tied Him with a pestle with a rope and went to sell milk. When Krishn got tired of standing there, He started moving carrying that pestle and tried to pass through two Arjun trees, but they were so close that the pestle got stuck in between them. Krishn pulled it a little that those trees were uprooted and fell down. Yashodaa got very frightened to see this. Since Yashodaa tied Him with Daam (rope) at His Udar (stomach) that is why from that He was called Daamodar. Those Arjun trees became Bhagavaan's Paarshad.

Seeing all these troubles, Nand and other Gop left for Vrindaa Van. Now Krishn and Balaraam have started taking calves for grazing. One day Bak named Raakshas came to them and trying to kill Krishn in disguise of a crane. Vaasuden threw only a small lump of soil at his feathers and he fell down lifeless. After some days, one day Raam and Balaraam slept under a tree, that Brahmaa Jee came to have Darshan of Krishn. But as he saw Him sleeping, he stole His calves and companions (Gwaal Baal - herdsmen's children) and went back to his Lok. When Krishn and Balaraam woke up they did not find their companions and calves. He understood that Brahmaa Jee has done all this. So He created all companions and calves. Thus everything continued as before.  One year had passed. Then Prajaapati gave Him his calves and companions back and said with fear - "Naath, I have committed crime by taking them away from you, please forgive me." And he went back to his Lok with the child image of Krishn in his heart.

Once He went to Yamunaa Kund with His Gwaal Baal. There lived a very poisonous and mighty Kaaliya Naag (serpent). He had 1,000 heads, but Krishn crushed his heads with His one foot only. When he came into senses, he asked for His forgiveness. He lived here with the fear of Garud, so Bhagavaan said to him - "Now you need not to fear from Garud, because when he will see my footprint on your head, he will not touch you. Now you go from here and live at your place." After Kaaliya had left, all the trees around it, which were burnt with Kaaliya's poison, became green.

There was a Raakshas living in Vrindaa Van in the form of a python. He was very heavy like mountain, but Krishn killed him also. After this He went to the Van where Dhenukaasur lived. He was very huge and it was impossible to defeat him. He lived in the guise of a donkey. Bhagavaan pushed him by holding his two legs and hitting him with a palm tree. Then He came to Bhaandeer Vat and started playing games with other children. At that time Pralamb named Raakshas came there assuming the form of a Gop child and flew away in the sky carrying Balaraam Jee. Balaraam Jee understood that he was a Raakshas so he hit him with his fist so he fell down crying loudly and died.

After this one day an Asur named Arishtaasur came to Brij in the evening and started shouting to kill Krishn. Seeing him like that, Krishn uprooted a palm tree and hit him with it between his horns. His horns were broken, head was ripped off and he died instantly. After this they all started living there only. After this a Keshee named Asur came in Brij assuming the form of horse and started shouting loudly to kill Krishn. Krishn hit him on his forehead with His fist. His all teeth fell down, eyes popped out and he fell down on the ground lifeless.

Once during Nand etc Gop were to celebrate Indra's worship, but Bhagavaan asked them to stop it and start Govardhan worship. This made Indra very angry. He started raining there continuously for 7 days and 7 nights. Bhagavaan lifted Govardhan Parvat and kept it like that for all the time. All people came under it and were comfortable. Seeing this Indra got ashamed. He stopped the rain and came to ask for His forgiveness. He did Abhishek of Govind and worshipped Him with Divine clothes and ornaments. After that he went back to Swarg and Krishn also kept Govardhan at its place."
