3-Jyeshth Maas Vrat

Jyeshth Maas is the 3rd month of Hindu Lunar calendar year. The following Vrat and festivals are celebrated in this month.

Jyeshth Amaavasyaa - Bad Amaavas
Vat Saavitree Vrat. This day Suhaagin (married women) keep fast, worship Vat tree (banyan tree) and wish for the long life of their husbands.

Jyeshth Shukla Dashamee - Gangaa Dashaharaa
This day people take a dip in Gangaa River. It is believed that Gangaa came on Prithvi this day.
