Minimize Your Needs
From a Book entitled

There lived a very good King who took care of his public very well. All his people were very happy from him. He had a very good poet in his royal court. His name was Kumbh Daas. The King liked and respected him very much. One day he went to Kumbh Daas house just to see him. He found him in his worshipping place about to apply Chanadan (Sandalwood paste) on his forehead. He did not find the mirror he used to see his face in, so he called his daughter and asked her to bring the mirror, so that he could apply Chandan Teekaa on his forehead. His daughter told him that a cat had broken the mirror. The poet then asked her to bring some water in a broken bowl. The poet saw his face in that bowl and applied his Chandan Teekaa on his forehead and started his worship.

Seeing tis the King got very sad that a poet of his own court and such an honor did not have even a proper mirror in his house. He had to use water and that also in a broken bowl. He immediately returned to his palace. Next day he sent a golden framed mirror to his dear poet. When the poet came to the court, he returned that mirror with greatest honor and politeness saying - "Mahaaraaj, I am very grateful for your kindness and concern for me, but please, do not fill my house with useless things."

The King was very impressed with the views of his poet and he even respected him more than before.
